VICTORY - Hopefully they will say something to you first and maybe offer to pay for some new ones etc but if not the really non confrontational thing to do would be say something like "I'm guessing you've realised that your little ones had a falling out with my flowers the other day. Kids are kids and these things happen so lets not either of us worry about it, but maybe you could have a chat with them to make sure that sort of thing doesn't happen again?" That way you've said something and not let it pass unmentioned but been very restrained/mature/good natured about it. Then if it happened again...well no holds barred!

To everyone who's said about 24 hours starvation etc, thanks for the advice. I havent been sick since yesterday morning, just feel rubbish now. OH told me to eat yummy things that make me want to eat, as he reckons my calories over the last 3 days have been about 1000 combined which is low, especially considering how much of that I "lost" in various ways(!) and that will be contributing to my feeling weak. So I have had 3 microwaved bakery cookies throughout the day, and as its just me here tonight I will have a frozen pizza. I doubt I will eat it all, so will have the left overs of it for lunch tomorrow. Despite always having pizza's in as emergency lunch/meals for OH, I usually have a tiny 1/8th slice and go mmmmm but resist, so will try to enjoy it tonight. Am pretty sure the whole thing it under 1000 cals anyway, so not that bad as pizzas go.

POLKADOT - glad you had a great weekend, bet that fun and family time has done you the world of good.

dmv, love your advice, what a great way to put it.

My poorly monkeys started with very bland food after their tummy bugs, like a plain piece of toast and when it stayed down moved onto apple/banana. However, after their 24 hr fast nothing else did come back up. Good luck with the pizza.

Victory That's horrible about your tulips, but DMV has put it very well. Gosh I remember the days when I would have been dragged out by my ears to apologise:oBut such young children...are the often allowed in the front of the house unsupervised?

    What a day!

My mum called me to tell me my Gran had been blue lighted by ambulance to hospital at 5am this morning, they think she has a blood clot in her lungs!! She woke up with severe chest pains. The thing is she isn't old (She's my step gran) about 43ish, but I think her weight is a major factor, my Grandad told me when they were down on Friday that she is over 22stone now, and she is only 5ft, has loads of medical problems relating too it such as high BP, some weird hardening of the skin on her shins and it can't be good for her athritus (sp) either! Hope it isn't anything serious though, and I'm just waiting for an update.

Also, Keira was capering with OH earlier, and blam she tripped and banged the back of her head off the tv unit, has a nice big egg growing there now and a slight graze, she needs a nap too but obviously I can't let her right now. So I'm suffering with a grumpy toddler now!

I can't wait for the day I actually have good news lol, never a dull moment here that's for sure.

Foodwise has been an utter shambles today, as was the rest of the week so I'm hoping for a STS (Fingers crossed) I'm about to eat my tea, which is one of those lidls lasagne's that you pop in the oven, I heard good things about them so I'm gonna give it a whirl.

    Take care folks!

dmv saw the dad in the garden and the conversation went like this...
Chat, pleasanteries between each other then me ' I was wondering if it would be possible to tell your little ones not to pick my flowers in the front garden, unfortunately they have picked all my tulips(big smile, laugh from my side, very polite and friendly) and their lovely heads are in your garden' another laugh from me keep it open and happy..
father' what are you saying? Are you accusing me of picking your tulips?' NO said I I am not accusing anyone just asking if it is possible....trailed off to father...'if you accuse my kids you accuse me, we are a family and my kids do not pick flowers, ever (me trying to get in a word explaining that when his wife and I were talking out the front the other day the kids picked my flowers and gave us one each) when i TRIED to explain where the heads were....'so you saw them pick them (no) so you are accusing my kids, so there is no problem if you want your heads back I WILL throw them over for you end of story, when I tried to say that the flowers were now dead headless and useless he shrugged and said he couldn't be bothered with it all, that it was all pointless and what is my problem?
It went on for a bit longer with him desperately trying to call his kid in to slam the door behind him and leave me standing in the garden but the kid did not listen to him so he called his wife out who asked the little one if he had done it who never answered her, I just said please could you ask the little ones not to pick the flowers and that I had not accused anyone just asking please and she said we shall leave it like that and closed the door on me,

  • Victory, sorry it turned so nasty - there really was no need to be like that - everyone knows little ones make mistakes, and you were clearly going to be reasonable - why not just say how sorry they are  and that they will have a firm chat with their kids. Now the little ones will learn that you can destroy other peoples property and then bully your way out of it - nice.
