GRANNY - It depends where you go in spain tho. Even last year when we were on holiday we found that prices were not that much cheaper in restaurants (even the tucked away ones where as you say you are the only non locals) as it was right on the coast and is a popular area. Yet when we drove two hours to visit some family we found (and they confirmed) that eating out is about 40% cheaper there as its away from the coast and not a tourist area at all.0

Granny secretly went to benidorm, thats why the prices were so cheap
I've always fancied barcelona, looks lovely. Nice to see you back !!!!!!.
Buttons: Hardcore, must have been really frightening. Trouble is i dont think many people have the experience in first aid or seeing it so theyre clueless to know what to do. If i saw a baby like that or an eldery person like it, i would rush to the elderly person first because i would relate to that more than the babys problems. Sounds silly i know, but ive hardly held a baby in my life let alone give it first aid. Last year a baby died in BHS, it just stopped breathing, i thought you were going to say that happened so thank god the baby is ok.
I had a silly day at work. My boss is such a wang. There was only 2 of us on lingerie all day. Comes up and tells us, "i knew it would be quieter in the morning but i don't think it will be all that busy in the afternoon" Trying to make out that we are silly because its nice weather, the first saturday off for the kids almost and easter. We didnt bother tidying at the end of the day as a sign of protest ha.0 -
Buttons - well done to you today, and happy birthday to your daughter. I'm a trained first aider (rather lapsed though now after some years), but I often wonder about people who just stand still and panic. It's simply not how I am pre-programmed to react. A couple of months ago my youngest headbutted the corner of a desk (long story, but it involved flying socks!) and cut a gash open in his forehead, that wouldn't stop bleeding. My 10 y/o son just shrieked and screamed for me, which made my youngest scream as well, my older boys then shouted at the 11 y/o asking what he'd done, and my BF just looked confused! I got a pad of tissue paper on it and applied pressure, and tried to calm my son, and asked my Bf to fetch something from the freezer to place on it - he came back saying nothing was very cold in there, and bought me some sausages!! Anyway, all ended OK after a trip to A+E where they glued the cut, as I'd told him they would.
Food today has been ok-ish, and then a bit off-piste.
b - 2 slices toast
L - 2 slices crispy bacon, wholemeal bread
D - 2 quorn sausages, 2 skinny 95% meat sausages (81 cals each), veg & mash
Snack - small portion of cheesecake (eek!)
I had a busy afternoon and did lots of lifting & carrying, so I'm hoping that will have been damage limitation.
Well done ffm on the loss, and lots of exercise in the mix there too!
dmv - be grateful you don't live with me. If anyone is sick in this house they have an enforced 24hrs starvation, apart from water, to allow their body to fight any bug/virus. A doctor once advised me to do this, as the body can't cope with fighting an infection, and then attempting to digest food at the same time, without it slowing the healing process down, or making it worse. It does seem to work though. Glad you're feeling better.
Granny - your trip sounds lovely, and glad you had a nice time. Shame you didn't bring back some warm Spanish weather with you.
victory - I am so intrigued I'd rather like to see a pic of your dining room now! Do you mean the strips that go on the floor between the rooms? If so, I bought mine from Homebase, they do hard floor to hard floor, or ones to a lower/higher floor, and then just an end strip. Look at the aisle near the MDF/wood flooring where they have all the accessories. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
where is the cheapest place to buy a sheet from? Im going out monday night dressed as God, well a godess, and im going to wear a toga, (also an excuse to buy some of those sandles with the studs on) and i need a nice cheep sheet that doesnt have the elasticated corners on0

Vix, you could try a boot fair tomorrow morning. I bought some white single cotton sheets from one of the 'traders' last year - I think I got 6 for £10, but you might find a trader that sells them singly. Ashford Cattle market has a good boot fair on a Sunday and it's under cover so even if it rains will be open. Can't promise they would def have sheets though

VIX - I would try tescos/asda for a cheap bed sheet. If you get a fitted one with stretchy corners etc then you could cut the elasticated bit off quite easily.
SARY - I think I would have been better off not eating tbh. Was stuffed after a few mouthfulls of spag bol and have gone downhill since. Apart from feeling sick I havent been able to shift this headache and the shakes for 2 days so just feel rubbish. If I'm sick again tomorrow then I will do 24 hours starvation.
Only thing I can say about all this is...I damn well better lose weight this week after all this!0 -
Well following WW religiously this week has obviously worked as I have lost 3.5lb It's interesting as I have done loads less exercise this week and I think I have eaten slightly more. Going to have to be careful when I'm back at work to remember to eat enough to balance out the increased exercise.0
