Sary, it's when my 'net' calories of intake minus exercise go lower than my BMR that I seem to get into difficulties. So I try to make sure intake minus exercise equals no lower than BMR every day... though there obviously are some days where it doesn't work out like that - this is real life after all!

As an example, three weeks ago my average daily intake was 1727, I went on a big exercise spree that week and burnt an average 632/day for a 'net' of 1095/day (below BMR) = 1.5lb gain

Last two weeks my 'net' calories per day have been 1487 and 1451 (above BMR) and I've STS both weeks even though intake was about 300/day higher last week than the week before.

It's not an exact science but there does seem to be some general logic to it :)

ETA: Forgot to say congrats on the great results so far this week!!!

sary must be the week for job worries:rolleyes: my OH came home ashen faced yesterday to tell me that he is loosing his job and they had a meeting today to tell everyone of thewhy's wheres etc (if he lost his job we would loose our house etc as we rely solely on his job) at the meeting today they told him he has a 12 month extension (I keep badgering him to get a contract signed so they can';t back out of promising him another 12 months) so he has colour in his cheeks again but like I said to him don't sit back and think oh 12 months because it will fly by:rolleyes:

My nephew knew 3 out of 10 would be told they no longer have their jobs last week, he was confident that he was one of the ones that were going to stay (married just a few months mortgage etc) he lost his job, fortunately his wife has not and has had to take on all the monthly expenses. My neighbour could have worked at his factory 7 days a week if he so wished, he has just been told he can only work 3 if that:rolleyes: (cleverly though he has bought a load of inflatable bouncy castles, a second hand van and is going to hire them out to the kids parties:D )

Uhm yes jobs are very few and far between and lucky if you still have one:rolleyes:

When I eat carbs the weight stays or adds if I drop them along with bread I fare much better exercise the same and it seems to work but like missy says it is not an exact science and everyone is different, I never have bread in the week silly diet self imposed rule (unless I go into town on a wednesday which is turkey sub day £1.99) I just know I work best with no bread pasta pots etc and work better with high protein meals, fruit, veg, etc.:D

STS for me this week, just had a look at my boots weigh in slips and have gained 4lb since oct 2008, 3lb of that was xmas that never came off, can't fight it anymore:rolleyes: :D

Just been looking at chessington to go with the kids in a few weeks for the little one's birthday and it seems they do not do any healthy eating in that place, it is all KFC, Burger king, fish and chips ice cream stands, nothing there is WW friendly, wanted to go there without having to take loads along with us but that seems impossible now

You could always get a happy meal or something? It's less than 500calories, maybe around 400. Just nibble the fries so they last for ages....

Or eat fish & chips and go on a big ride, you will barf it up no probs lol.

I did that once, but I went on the Waltzers, can you just imagine? Getting spun round and round and I'm barfing - SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT. None went on me though :D

Hi all, sorry not been posting this week, but I have been reading.

Victory, I love sushi, generally only buy it from Tesco or Waitrose when it is reduced. I find it filling because of the rice and very tasty if you eat it with the wasabi, soy sauce and ginger that they give you with it.

    FFM :)

Even cheaper if you make it yourself!! :D I've bought seaweed and sushi rice in Sainsburys and the larger Tescos

Missy I wonder if you can help me out here, re this BMR, I've been on a website and calculated me BMR, but what does this mean? It says on the website this is the calories I would burn if I stayed in bed all day?? I'm confused as to when I then burn calories during exercise, hope you can explain it better to me
    Thanks in advance

Thanks for the chart raph !! :T

Hello everyone...Im sorry that Im not going to be able to say everything I wanted (Ive been reading for about an hour to catch up and cant remember what I read five minutes ago. Except for the prospect of Granny retiring-very exciting and The Dragon with your chicken pox-how horrible.

I had a miscarriage on mothers day morning, but I'm doing better now. Obviosly my weight loss has gong to pot and I assume I achieved at the very least a STS. I have been in a lot of pain until this morning (or is that yesterday morning) and obviously very weepy. We have however decided that as soon as we can, we will try again. I'm going to continue taking the pregnacare for now and will supplement it with Wheatgerm and Kelp (which will also help the metabolism contributing to a bit of weightloss). If Im not pregs again in a few months we will look at the option of metformin or chlomid. In the meantime, I have promised that DS and I will be leaving this house EVERY morning from now on to get out and get some exercise and air:)
