Hugs Polkadot - puts my health problems into perspective! You rest up and take care of yourself (and make sure OH does as well - he may not have the physical problems but he will have some of the emotional ones I suspect).

Oh it turns out that a small number of the population can get every single strain of chicken pox and don't build immunity - and guess what! Dr Dragon on the other hand is fine he just managed to transfer it from work to me

Hi all :hello: Can I join you please? I don't think I actually qualify as I haven't started my diet yet *wipes biscuit crumbs away from mouth* I'm thinking of doing the cambridge, does anyone know how much it is???

I'd just like to say how sorry I am to polkadot, it really is terrible news and I hope you find the strength to get through it.

FFmonkey, I agree, that is a dodgy hug!! I was saying that on another thread. If you run your mouse over the actual picture in the smileys board, a little tab comes up saying 3some

    Huge hugs Polka :(

Football training was cancelled last night, so I went out for a run instead, 4.28 miles 37 minutes. I'm getting quicker all the time :)
I'm off for a huge walk in a minute, it's my dogs 4th birthday (I know I'm sad), she's had a bone this morning, and now I'm going to walk her legs off with my friend :)
Football was postponed til tonight, but now it's raining so we shall see.

    cool new avatar raph!

hiya kassandra! I think we have someone on the forum who does cambridge so they might have some advice for you

hannah, oh will prob get a couple more odd days from my work but thats all relly. It's awkward becuase we've spent 4 years getting his business off the ground, which relies on him being able to take days off exactly when he needs them - so he could get a call about an event monday and need to be at a site visit tuesday. you can't guarantee this flexibility in a normal job, and there just isn't anything where he could do a couple of weekdays and not weekends - demand for those hours is already high thanks to families needing that flexibility. when you temp you set your days and if you say you aren't going in, they can't argue with you - they can get rid of you of course, but thats the chance he takes. it's a real quandary. It's also why he can't/won't claim jsa - he's imposing conditions that make it difficult to get work, conditions that jsa - probably quite rightly - wouldn't stand for. so i'd best postpone my grand decking scheme.

Polkadot I'm so sorry. Lots and lots of whoppahugs your way.

Dragon My daughter had chicken pox twice and bless her, she had them EVERYWHERE if you know what I mean! She called them chicken pops and I used to get images of chicken flavoured coco pops! Eurgh!

KPC fingers crossed for your OH.

I'm on cloud nine at the mo. Weighed myself this morning (yes I know I was supposd to yesterday but I forgot!:o ) and I've lost 3lbs!!!!! After so long without budging I'm sooooo pleased. Tried on some clothes for the holiday too and they fit so well!

    Kassandra welcome!

Vixarooni --- you cheeky child! I am not going to take up bowls. Retirement next year is a plan rather than a definite, but it's keeping me going just thinking about it.

cor, i havent been called child in awhile granny! As much as i knock bowls it gives my parents alot of pleasure and they have more of a social life through it than i do! so i cant really moan about it.

Well if its keeping you going thinking about it than i would go for it.

sorry to hear your news polkadott, good luck for your future trying.

Victory: it may not be the best food to eat, but with the amount of walking/running you do in a theme park is hardcore and you should burn a bit off. Although i suppose i was like 15 when i last went to a proper one so maybe i was more excited about it ha. I was thinking of going to a theme park soon because of WHSmiths doing the 2-1 vouchers.

Dragon: oh no! how horrid. I have fond memories of chicken pox but it must be awful as an adult.

I had another flat viewing today, it was gorgeous! a bath with taps in the middle, an ensuite to the bedroom and it has views of the cathedral and the river. It has parking and would work out cheaper than what we are in now! result.
