I just tried the fromage frais today and it was quite nice, thanks for the recommendations further up the thread.
What's the bets that all the popular value things now will creep up a bit in price, did I say fromage frais was good, well actually...“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
The sandwich bags are good.
I think the bin liners are awful - I bought these last time - never again. They are so thin that every single one of them ripped and I had to use 2 liners - complete waste of money.0 -

Seconded. They've also dropped in price recently at our local shop. They were 72p or so a box and now they're 62p. Much nicer than after 8s too :-)0 -

I have some Cornishware-the blue and white striped china which I love and the Value stuff really goes well with it.I like that wartime austerity look! It reminds me of the 'utility' packaging a lot of food manufacturers used during the war.I'm sure that's where most of our money goes-on fancy packaging.
Btw I found value sultanas and mixed dried fruit very gritty.0 -

Yes I do agree that men are the hardest to buy cards for. The 75p ones where really big ones as well.
And it does not say value on the back of the card so no one would know.

also i find all my things match in the cupboard too, rather than lots of different pictures on tins. am i the only one sad enough to line the stripes up?
i've used the dried fruit, but i only tend to make it in fat free cake, and the fruit is soaked overnight in tea, which made it a lot more edible.

Instant noodles are my current favourite!
At 8p a pack you can't really go wrong! I know someone who has tried the equivalent from ASDA and she says the Tesco ones are much nicer.
They're great cos I used to spend about £3 per day on lunches, and now I can get 1 months worth of lunches for work for a lot less!!0
