    Hi

The value fromage frais is perfectly good (have been told it's made by Danone) at 44p each (just not paying for pictures of Postman Pat etc).

Tried the Value vanilla ice-cream recently and that wasn't good!

I've just found the sanitary products are fine too - they do ones similar to Always.

i love the fromage frais from tesco

their value chocolate mousse used to be fantastic, (it was made in france, so i guess i shouldn't be so surprised) however they've changed it so now it's a bit pasty and not as sweet...not so nice now

when i used to shop them regularly i looked like the posterchild for tesco value range! many times my entire basket would be only value products

their bitter (which was more like lager) was quite good and only 23p a tin. i'm not a big alcohol drinker but i quite liked it and it was beautiful in stew ;)

however they don't see to have the bitter anymore... now they have stout (more like bitter, which i don't like!) so no more cheap drinks for me but it's still nice in stew

i've found their value cleaning tools good sponges, scratcy pads, dish rags etc their value cameras are good too

we even bought value vodka to make homemade vanilla with (didn't matter what it tasted like for that purpose!)

Kids pants, boxers, hoodies, jeans, Tshirts, shorts, trackie bottoms, fleeces (NB with the tops buy 2 yrs older than you need)
    Ladies jeans and pants
Paper, propelling pencils, torches, notebooks, polypockets
Tinned tomatoes, kidney beans, MUSHY PEAS -YUM!!, peaches, grapefruit
Jaffa cakes, digestives, "penguin" biscuits, choc chip cookies (only as a treat)
Lard, longlife milk, chocolate, orange juice, crisps, salted peanuts, tortilla chips, cheese and tomato pizza (if not HM)
    Smoked salmon
And yesterday I got a pack of cooking bacon which is a mix of smoked and unsmoked, back and streaky and which seems really nice quality - just a collection of the ends they can't sell

soups not bad with toast for lunch
meatballs the kids love them and they are really fussy, cant stand lumps
    tinned spaghetti kids love it.
dont try the squash kids dont like it and it stains everything
washing powder good value and works.
    plain flour ok for buiscuits.
ice cream nice and cheap for kids and us
12 " pizza's ok just add some ham sweetcorn and grated strippy cheese great value family pizza.
    strippy cheese good
    strippy bacon ok
    hope it helps

Hi calleyw, plain choc has more cocoa beans in. Hence the price difference.
I love the plain ones. :)

I am not sure that is the real reason as according to the tescos price checker

    OL BUDGET CHOCOLATE DIGESTIVES MILK/PLAIN 300 £0.25

They should be both the same price. But in my local one for the last few weeks they have not been. But I do know a few months ago they where the same price.

And the same applies to chocolate bars 100g

    OL Budget Chocolate 100g (Milk/Plain) £0.25

So according to your theory then the above plain chocolate bar should be nearly 10p more expensive when according to the price checker it is the same price.

Also believe it or not tescos do a value selection chocolate box 99p and it was at least 10 pieces in the box. As long as you did not show anyone the lid. Makes a nice little treat.

Oh gawd - I forgot to own up to this one!!

It's brilliant value - especially at the moment in the '20% off boxed chocolates' promo which sees it reduced to 79p.

You get 20 chocolates in the box:
Soft hazelnut praline, Coffee flavour chocolate praline, Soft caramel stick, coffee flavour praline triangle (2), chocolate with hazelnut cream (2), vanilla caramel stick, milk chocolate hazelnut cream, soft caramel wrapped in a crisp cluster (2), milk chocolate with a raspberry flavour cream, orange cream, chocolate coconut (2), caramel toffee (2), amaretto flavour praline chocolate, nougat duo, hazelnut trio.

I can honestly say they are excellent - esp the soft caramel wrapped in a crisp cluster(s). And definitely of quality to repackage and give to someone you're fond of.

(I'm just trying now to resist giving them to the me I'm very fond of!!)
