    - sweetcorn

    I buy:

Tinned tomatoes, (chopped and plum), kidney beans
    Porridge Oats
    Cheese (some)
    OJ and apple juice
    baby yogs (sometimes)
    flour
    butter
carrots/bananas and other veg when it looks nice
    sultanas and mixed fruit
    biscuits
    reams of paper

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I have bought other items but haven't liked them and have gone to other makes, but you may like them. I don't buy meat from a supermarket, certainly never value meat when I did, (ethical reasons). Same for eggs - stopped buying value eggs and only buy free range now.
  • Just remembered that my daughter reckoned the value batteries lasted better than other dearer batteries in her MP3 player icon7.gif
  • with all respect, didn't you ever notice the value brands before reading martin's book? :rotfl:

I am trying to avoid spending money in Tescos but in the value range in the past I have bought the following and had no problems with them.

-Jaffa cakes. Sponge a little drier than rel jaffa cakes but I prefer that
-Porridge oats nice and cheap and round about 40p for a kg
-Milk and Dark Chocolate digestives. Milk ones are 25p a pkt and Plain 34p. Yes I have no idea why different prices either
    -OJ/Apple Juice

But as I said no more as I am not keen to keep putting money in to Mr T's pockets anymore.

    Yours

    Calley

I buy, baked beans, custard creams, bourbons & porridge oats. I also buy stuff from the basics range in Sainsburys. Tried the value golden syrup, it's awful!! If my maths is correct the tate and lyle golden syrup is actually cheaper than the value syrup!! Value syrup is 77p for 680g and T&L is 97p for 907g.

  • I buy the tortilla chips (although Sainsburys basics are nicer), OJ and apple juice, bourbon biscuits, jaffa cakes (I like them better than McVities but my kids say they are "rank"), fizzy water, pitta bread, bread rolls, porridge oats and cheese. IMO the Sainsburys basics is a better tasting range, but I have just discovered Aldi and I think that their stuff is generally better than any of the value ranges. I hope to move onto everything home made one day though!!!

    I buy:

    Flour (plain & self raising)
Notebooks (to write my OS recipes in)
    Pens (biros)
    Porridge
Peppers (as has been said previously - they are just different sizes)
    Tissues
Wipes (I use these to clean round the bathroom when I'm in a rush)
    Orange juice
    Tomatoes

Don't buy supermarket meat so I can't comment.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
