I dont buy masses from tesco if im honest - I usually shop at Lidl morrisons and Tesco.
From tesco I get:
Cat Litter
Flour
Brocolli
Parsnips
Carrots
and occasionally the stuff in the offers - like plastic food boxes etc.

Hi
The value fromage frais is perfectly good (have been told it's made by Danone) at 44p each (just not paying for pictures of Postman Pat etc).
Tried the Value vanilla ice-cream recently and that wasn't good!
I've just found the sanitary products are fine too - they do ones similar to Always.0 -
I buy loads of value stuff and have done for ages, but my most recent discovery is the value instant custard at 11p a sachet.
It isn't available in all stores but if you can get it ,it is definately better than the birds equivalent as it rarely goes lumpy.
Two sachets is about right for my lot as it makes 1 1/2 pints of thick custard and by far the cheapest way to do it!
We use the value lemonade a lot too, mixing it with fruit juice or a dash of lime.
The orange squash is as nice as any we've tried at only 16p a litre!0 -
with all respect, didn't you ever notice the value brands before reading martin's book?
Was this intended for me? I am new to money saving and bought this book by chance while at a station. I don't "need" to save which is why I have never paid attention to these things before. However, I now realise the criminal waste and overexpenditure in my lifestyle and I reckon that I can eat better by cooking from scratch and divert money saved to exotic holidays etc. And of course if I ever did need to save on outgoings this would all be good experience.0 -

Excellent marketing technique by Tesco eh? They don't really want you to buy the value stuff you know, make it look cheap and nasty and the shoppers will go for the Finest range0 -
Tortilla Chips at 25p a bag - brilliant with Chilli. Will defo be buying the kidney beans and chopped toms having read the recommendations. :T

I buy value juices, peppers, cherry tomatoes (in the rare event I find them) and tin foil.
My latest find is the value Scampi which is totally comparable to Youngs and other prime brands but at a cost (1.55 a bag) that allows my OH to have what he considers a 'decent' portion!Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0
