Not surprised he wasn't feeling too good by the end considering how much sugar he was eating and how few veggies.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

HOLsale wrote:the thing with the value potatoes is that they'll be whatever type of potato that needs selling
they vary in the type/variety a lot though i've had potatoes that had a different name but tasted just like king edwards so that's not bad!
for mash they're fine
for casseroles they're fine
if you're doing baked spuds and will be loading them up with toppings they're fine
go for it i say!
If you look on the bag there's usually a sticker that tells you what variety of potato is inside. They do change throughout the year. Personally I'm not too worried about getting regular size potatoes like the "normal" bags contain, as I bake the big ones, and just us the rest like normal, mash, roast, chips, etc.
The 25kg bag we get from the local ag college is really good value though, and there are always a variety of potato sizes. Who are these people that supermarkets are catering to, in providing standardised size veg?! :happyhear
We also like the value gin in our house - a good dose of tonic and a squeeze of lemon and I'm def not sophisticated enough to tell the difference between brands!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
I've been very impressed with Tesco's foil and also their wire soap pads- 34p for 15, as opposed to Brillo which is 84p for a pack of only 10! I've found one cleans up my grill just as well!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

I think I'm going to try a couple of new value things each week and just stick with the ones I like. :heartpulsDebt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0 -
My discovery this week was the Boots value range - there is a two for the price of one on Shampoo and Conditioner. I bought 4 X 500ml bottles for 61p!!! Even the sales assistant was having a bit of trouble believing it. I have used them and they are absolutely fine.
I have now been on a scouting expedition to investigate the Sainsburys basic range and I reckon that it is better than Tesco with more goods and the shop is nicer...and the prices are the same. I bought ice cream in vanilla flavour a large brick in the basics range which is on special offer at 24p!0 -
I buy the following value items:
tomatoes, smoked salmon trimmings, biccies [including penguin type things], pasta, rice, noodles [but don't use the sachets], peanuts, monkey nuts, bananas, apples, peppers, oj, kidney beans, tinned sweetcorn, flour, dried fruit, porridge oats, mint chocs [tip from here], peaches, mandarins, butter, crisps.crumpets, tea cakes, scotch pancakes
Have tried and don't like tea, cornflakes, jam. Wouldn't buy any meat or eggs.
Also do double check prices as noticed that the value apples were more than the coxs next to them
