  • Well im not saying that.......im saying he shouldnt of past his customers details onto another business, who knows what junk mail she might get now or whether he opted out of her details being passed onto 3rd parties, his customer was given no notice or choice on where there personal details went, what if it had all been delivered by some far eastern company......what about this is right for all of you ?

What would stop the ebay seller using the buyers personal details anyway?

I've bought things that came from "Australia" and turned up with Hong-Kong stamps

HMV are pretty good with that kind of thing (although I realise that's not what you were getting at)
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
  • Yep I agree, ive had it happen to me to, doesnt make it right does it, if something went wrong what defence would you have, according to most of the posts on here None because you should of looked harder, id like to know if my details are going to be passed on....

I'd value any advice or comments.

I bought a DVD boxset from ebay at a 'buy it now' price. I recieved the item today and realised that once I'd paid, the seller bought the item from HMV's website for much less than he charged me. I know this because the seller even took advantage of the fact that HMV post for free and had them sent it directly to me! I know this because of the order details which were printed on a sticker attached to the DVD and obviously the outer packaging was from HMV too.

I've reported this to ebay but so far I've had no reply. Does anyone know if any ebay rules have been breached? Alternatively will I simply have to put this one down to experience and resolve to do better research the next time I buy (from my A level law days I'm kind of familiar with the concept that the law of contract doens't much care about 'bad bargains')?

Is this a wind up? I really thought I had read it all on here.....then I read this nonsense.

I mean seriously? You don't research the price of an item then complain when you receive it quickly and in perfect condition?

If its true then I think you should let us all know your e-bay name so we can block you from buying from any of us......just incase you should happen to pay more than you would of had you done some research

  • Shelly I dont think that is really the complaint, I think it is more about having details passed onto 3rd parties without being informed, if you deal with a person on ebay thats the person you have chosen to deal with irrelevant of price or product, or whats the point of ebays feedback system??

Reading back the OP there was no mention of worrying about details being passed on to 3rd parties until later and then they didn't seem that bothered about it.

And there is no point of the feedback system any more since e-bay stopped sellers being able to leave nothing but a positive.

Everyday I book parcels for delivery, I enter people's names and addresses.

    Am I doing something wrong?
    "Love you Dave Brooker! x"

"i sent a letter headded sales of god act 1979"
  • Does Wiki have a page to define "backtracking"? Somehow the cause for complaint has shifted from the seller (baddie!) trying to make a profit through "unethical" means, to the seller passing on details to a 3rd party, which would have been done anyway if the seller had booked a courier.

You aren't allowed to sell something you dont actually have so technically the seller broke eBay rules.

eBay doesnt allow sell to buy schemes.
