Profiteering is a pejorative term for the act of making a profit by methods considered unethical. Business owners may be accused of profiteering when they raise prices during an emergency (especially a war). The term is also applied to businesses that play on political corruption to obtain government contracts.0

What is unethical about buying from a cheap source and selling in a different market, that's how it works.
Or maybe you are suggesting that there is a war that I wasn't aware of
. Otherwise I think you have just disproved your own point as by that definition this not profiteering. The logistics amongst many other things would make it totally infeasible. Surprisingly.

Soolin, my only point is that their are less underhand ways of running a business we could miss quote and split hairs all night, my opinion is its just not neccessary to do this sort of business on a site like ebay, thats it.0

There's nothing underhand about buying something for less than you sell it for.

It's a pretty cutthroat place these days, not fuzzy and happy like the olden times

You got an item that you are happy with at a price you were prepared to pay - what's the problem ?
If I buy a tin of beans at Sainsburys, I don't then throw my toys out beacuse I find Tesco are selling it cheaper.0 -
So are you honestly saying that if the seller had bought, (actually purchased in advance) for example, 100 DVDs from HMV then you would consider it unfair for them to sell them at a profit?mrdtrotter wrote: »We all know how business works Soolin, I would liken it to Morrisons going into tescos and picking up there BOGOF offers and then selling them for the usual price, and viseversa, there would be uproar on here im sure.....
Because that is what it sounds like to me...
Add to that the fact that the seller would have to charge more if they had bought in advance, because postage doesn't grow on trees, and I think the buyer got a bargain
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.
