I'm really not impressed. After placing 4 orders last week, and yet none of them being on their system e.g. being fobbed off, I emailed them. After emails back and forth they said they cannot do anything without an order confirm, well duh. And now they say if you want to order a laptop call...... the flamin sales line. They are driving me up the wall

    Hi,
Is crucial the cheapest for RAM I want the upgrade to 512, one MSE said that crucial was good for £36, is there anywhere else cheaper. Ebuyer looked as though they had one for £20, but I dont have a clue what I am looking for. Can someone please advise..

    Cheers

go to control panel>add / remove programs> McAfee uninstaller.

gives you the option to take all the MCAfee stuff off in one go.

got zonealarm and AVG running now

Tried this twice tonight and it just sticks at about 99% uninstalled !
How 'easy' is it to do a disc format instead ?

I think the way Dell is treating its potential customers is absolutely shocking.

My dad phoned & ordered one of these last week, and is now today being told there is no record of the order. He has been on the phone for 2 hours today trying to get it sorted out, but to no avail. Have now passed onto him some of the advice & direct phone numbers contained in the previous 72 pages so hopefully he will get it sorted!!

Do you think they are 'losing' orders if you dont take up any of the optional extras? I am laughing so much at some of the 'advice' the sales people are giving out, the best one being the laptop will stop working after 3 months unless you buy a case, extra battery and memory!! :rotfl:

If Dell are going to advertise in the national press, they have to be prepared for the demand and get its Customer Services sorted out.

This has been a major !!!! up for so many customers, I just hope that Dell are reading this thread!!!

I did get my laptop delivered today, and so far am pleased with it.

I will probably do a complete re-install of windows at some point, to clear all the junk that is loaded onto it. The backup recovery CD utility did not work, but I just copied all the files manually onto a DVD that are in the DELL folder instead.
