You may however find it difficult to replace the graphics on a laptop lol.
  • Is this the best deal about? Is it still available?
  • Hi Folks - this is my first post so here goes -
Just had an email from a company that is doing a customer satisfaction survey on my recent order with Dell!!!!
Boy did I have fun telling them what i thought of their sales skills! I too was one of their customers who got hung up on - and was told that the laptop would not do much unless I upgraded.
I also told them that it was nigh on impossible to communicate with the 'sales' person as their use of English was so poor.

Wonder if Dell takes any notice???

Hope I still get my laptop!!!!

My secret hope is that towards the end of the 90 day warranty I can purchase a further 3 years for the same prices. If I can get it lower (as you suggest) then even better.

It is my experience, in the past, that if you have given them a good phone number, then their sales department will call you before the 90 days are up to try and flog you the extended warranty.

have waded through all the posts and my brain hurts, seems that once most folk actually receive the laptop they are pleased with it, so I'm thinking of braving it and having a go myself. I just can't make up my mind between £339 and 256 memory and buying the extra memory and installing it myself or double memory at £419 and no pesky mcAfee.
  • Mcaffee is very easy to gert rid of.
Memory upgrade is just a matter of 2 small screws and clip it in.

Why give Dell more than you need to.

Why not save yourself the additional 40 quid by giving them a call and buying it for £299 (plus any upgrades). Ok it might take a couple of attempts and about 20 mins of your time, so if you are used to earning more than £120 per hour, don't bother :D.

Remember even the "expensive" 0870 number only costs 1.5p per minute from a standard BT line today. :)
