I have been trying to find out what price is paid after the 18 month contract ends, I have sent a question to Plusnet with no reply.
Do you take it that after the contract period it will remain £5.99 for EVER??
I believe 5.99 is the ongoing price .
If you are a existing plusnet customer (as I am) , the contract is 12 months and not 18 months.
Cheers Steve0 -
I did the same and Plusnet confirmed in writing that for existing customers it will be a 12 month contract.0

Thanks for replies about ongoing price. I presume though that the price will increase slightly when VAT rises at the end of this year, unless of course they have already factored that into their price and are making slightly more profit during this year.
I am not an existing customer so would be tied to 18 months.0 -

Well Plusnet do say the price is fixed for 18 (12) months... this is one question that hasn't been answered by Plusnet over on the Plusnet community forum.0 -
I'm an existing Plusnet customer who has moved to Plusnet Value but I've been told that my new contract is 18 months - which seems to be confirmed by Plusnet's 'Legal' page:
http://www.plus.net/info2/legal/index.html#5
Terms and Conditions
Your Terms and Conditions for: Plusnet Residential Services
These Terms and Conditions come into effect from 17th February 2009
Plusnet Broadband price terms
1. All prices quoted in these Plusnet Broadband price terms include VAT except where it says otherwise.
2. All Plusnet Broadband options have a minimum period of 18 months, except Plusnet Pro which has a minimum period of 12 months. A new minimum period will apply to Plusnet customers who change to a Plusnet Broadband Products Family on or after 17th February 2009 unless the change relates to an offer in which case the offer minimum period will apply.
4. Payment will be by Direct Debit or other agreed payment method.
5. If you change your service (account type) during your contract term, you will start a new minimum term contract dependant on the Plusnet Broadband Option you are moving to. If you are moving from an 18 month contract to a 12 month contract and you still have more than 12 months left, the longer term will apply.
6. If you move from any of our existing Broadband services to the Plusnet Broadband Family, you can move your deferred contracts to run parallel with the new minimum term contract.

That has now been changed, existing customers can have a 12 months contract, but this does not include a free router which suits many customers who already have their own router, the 18 months contract remains if you agree to take the free wireless router.0

Anybody interested in this deal may want to make a decision quickly - as Quidco are currently giving £35 cashback. (The normal cashback is £28, and when they upped it last month to £56, that only lasted a short while before returning to £28)0

That has now been changed, existing customers can have a 12 months contract...
Difficult to see how 'that has now been changed'. The T&Cs I quoted only came into effect on 17/02/09 & I copied them from Plusnet's website today.
However, I've now sent the following message to Plusnet 'Help Assistant' & I'll report their reply when I get it:
"Existing customers moving to Plusnet Value - 12 or 18 month contract?
I am an existing customer who has just transferred to Plusnet Value and I have been informed by you that I am now on a new 18 month contract.
However, in a discussion on the 'moneysavingexpert' website - here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1498537&page=2
- a number of people are saying that they have been advised by you that existing customers transferring to Plusnet Value are put on a new 12 month contract, not 18 months.
Could you please clarify the position and confirm whether existing customers transferring to Plusnet Value are on a new 18 month or 12 month contract?"0 -
Difficult to see how 'that has now been changed.
