Our first should have been due in March (last week), but wasn't to be. We were told to wait for two months before trying again, but then I starting thinking if we were so lucky to fall pregnancy again first month of trying that would mean a July baby, so was getting cold feet and thinking we should hold off for a few months to ensure a September or later baby.
My sis was born in July and my parents were told several times she was immature for her age and the difference between her and the older ones in her school year was very noticeable. I talked it all through with a friend, then suddenly realised she has the same birthday as my sis and she's always been top of the class and is now a top musician and music teacher, along with her two best friends with July and August birthdays being teachers with masters degrees..
Obviously, as I now have a baby due in July, my friend convinced me it wouldn't be that bad an idea and we just went for it..(again, very lucky to fall first month).
Elle, my cousin is a year 1 teacher and deputy head. Apparently it can make a huge difference to some children as basically some start school a few weeks after turning 4 and some are turning 5 as soon as term starts. But it all levels out after a little while.
I was always one of the oldest in my year as I'm an October baby and Poppy will be too...and Jamie!. And just realised that Jamie will never have a schoolday birthday! :T.
My first would have been an August baby :A.

Aren't the health professionals so disinterested really when it comes to your baby. Even with baby number 2 I'm wanting to dance around the room about it but they just don't share the enthusiasm :rotfl:
Thanks, I knew I was right about the heartbeat thing! I was thinking of getting a doppler to use at home to indulge myself this time lol. The wait for the 12 week scan is going to feel like forever! I just want some to tell me that I'm definetely pregnant because I absolutely don't feel like it!
I know when I ovulated as we were testing so I'm sure the midwife will think I'm a bit crazy! I'm also dreading that I'll get moaned at for being underweight, my BMI is 15.3 regardless of my efforts to increase it.

Sorry, being really lazy, anyone Rhesus neg and remember when we have to have the Anti D jabs, at how many weeks? Also, do you have them at the midwife's or have to go to the hospital for it?
I had one when I had the m/c (crikey, I'm bringing that up a lot today!) but I went to the Dept for Women's Health (where women who are having hysterectomies go before and after surgery) which is in a completely different building to the maternity bit (which is call Dept of Family Services).
Thanks!0 -

Mine was 17.2 at my booking appointment (5ft 7 and 7st 10lb at the time) and nothing's been said. The midwife didn't know me, but it's a little village surgery so if they'd asked any of the GPs there who've known me for 25yrs they'd know I've always been like this so it's not an issue
Was it as low when you fell pregnant with your DD?0 -

If this one is any later than his due date, I don't think he'll have a schoolday birthday either - even July 19th is probably cutting it fine! My "July birthday" friend was trying to sell the summer birthday parties/BBQs/bouncy castles in the garden idea to me as a reason not to wait
My birthday almost always fell in Feb half term. I remember being absolutely gutted one year when it was the Monday we went back to school!0 -
Shelvis, did you midwife find it straight away? Mine did - as if she could see how the baby was lying and knew exactly where to put the detector thingy! Made me get the giggles cos we'd been searching and searching for it the night before and couldn't pick up anything!
Put the microphone thingy straight on it at 14 weeks and got it straightaway. Today was a bit more poking around to find it.0 -
I haven't heard the heartbeat at any of my scans... Heard it at the midwife but for some reason I don't think it was at my booking in appointment (which was around 8 weeks) - and at 30 weeks my midwife still has the enthusiasm of a limp digestive biscuit...
Thankfully my doctors let me listen to the heartbeat everytime I have been heheheheDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Does this help? It is out of my maternity notes.0 -
Oh dear I really have lost the plot today! My BMI was 15.3 after I had my DD it's now 17 I've just checked! I've got baby brain already it seems. Ah well 17 isn't that bad is it? When I got pregnant with my DD it was 18.5.
I feel so much better now I've just realised its not 15.3 anymore! I've made progress in the past 12 months after all!
