AM, unless youve already sorted the car seat, I'd go to Mothercare, tell them what the problem is (seat belt too short isn't it?) and let them try a few others in your car. They will swap if it doesn't fit.

The same one wouldn't fit ours cos of the shape of the back seats, so we ended up with a maxi cosi one and had to have a 'neat seat' rubber mat thing to go with it (which cost £30 !!!!!!!).

The only other thing is, Steve has suggested, having a look on a Ford forum and seeing what car seats people on there have xx
Well OH is determined he's going to get it to fit
He's out now, over his mums, and took it with him for some strange reason.
DId you change the buggy then?
He wont let me change the buggy if the seat dont fit!

I know it says that on the halfords website but if u phone ur store they might have one;), but seeing as it says it fits maybe you are willing to just order it from somewhere online possibly cheaper? - good luck either way! x

PS to all ladies with volvo's when my mum was looking on the web for info coz her seatbelts where too short she found lots of people saying volvo seatbelts were too short for lots of seats so prob best to get on the case early :)
I'll take a trip down there next week and have a look, but will search online too, they had 10% off in Halfords if you buy or reserve online!

Hi AM - maybe i'm stating the obvious but!
I've got the Ventura car seat, with the Silver Cross Classic - and it fits ok in the back of my Citreon at either side, but not in the middle seat. But, i've switched off the passenger airbag, and had her in the front - where she only fits if i push the seat back to as far back as it will go. (Only useful if you have switch-off-able airbags!)
So - try the carseat in different seats in the car - as in mine, the seatbelts are different lengths!
I tried it both sides of the car, but not in the front, I cant have him in the front all the time, if I'm driving OH wont fit in the back very comfortably, it;s not exactly practical.
I was ok with ds one it didnt fit in the back of mine but it was only me and him 99% of the time anyway.

You can get extenders, or even attach longer seatbelts, wonder if that's what he's gonna do?

I changed everything in the end yeah, we got a maxi cosi seat and a maxi cosi mura pram so we can attach the seat to the pram frame.

It's not the end of the world if the seat won't fit the pram, we only changed ours because they had a brill deal on the Mura and we got it for the same price as the 3D.

Do you feel you have a lot to live up to? In my family, everyone had completely easy births - one had twins (7lbs+ each) naturally, with gas & air! I feel like I'll be a 'wuss' if I don't do as well as them.

I've not coped very well with pregnancy, don't know if I can take being rubbish at labour too!
omg totally, my auntie had 3 all over 8lb kids with nothing but gas and air and her labours were all under 6 hours, but then she's nearly 6 feet tall and i'm only 5"3 so i'm sure that must have something to do with it! and when i was unable to keep any food down for the first few months she told me it was mind over matter and i should stop letting it happen  now shes just texting me every couple of hours asking where the baby is and bragging that she never went overdue with any of hers and its all mind over matter for that too lol!

I'm still debating about epidural. Because of my fat back, if I want one, I really should have one early in labour. If I don't have one, its likely I'll get to the point where I want one, but they won't be able to give me one! What happens then? I suppose I just get on with it?
Just go along with it and see what happens, if you cant have it you cant have it, theres not alot you can do about it and once it's all over it doesnt really matter anyway.

    Hi Everyone,

Hope your all Ok on this miserable day and hopefully there are some babies on the way.

    I have a few quickie Q's.....

When you apply for you Health in Pregnancy Grant any idea how long it takes to arrrive and does it get paid straight into a bank account or do you get it by cheque? I just want to be able to plan my budget ahead (I'm trying to be organised for a change)

Next one, are sight tests free when you're pregnant? I get them free with work anyway but I was just curious.

    Thanks

    J

Jvic- I was told the HiPG won't be paid to anyone till after April. YYou have to give bank details on the form, so I think it is paid direct.

I had a sight test recently, wasn't free.
