ohhhh
no i would be too worried about the carpet!:rotfl:
seriously though, i would be too much of a wuss to do that, maybe on a second baby if i have no complications with this one but i just want the peace of mind of knowing that if anything does go wrong i'm in the right place. and that i'll be near a nice epidural if i want one too!Mummy to

I'm still debating about epidural. Because of my fat back, if I want one, I really should have one early in labour. If I don't have one, its likely I'll get to the point where I want one, but they won't be able to give me one! What happens then? I suppose I just get on with it?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

helen - HAPPY BIRTHDAY
And labour vibes to all in need.
Had my Physiotherapy appointment yesterday (because of my arthritis) and although my pelvis is holding up well, my ankles are swelling and are incredibly stiff and painful. So they are sending me to hydrotherapy and I have been ordered to rest and put my feet up as much as possible. I have been told to use crutches if I go out and I have to see my GP next week to see what painkillers/anti-inflammatory tablets I can take.
So I am taking it easy this weekend and DH is being really good - he keeps asking if I want anything, cups of tea, chocolate etc So I am making the most of it!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

my midwife said most people who say they want to try and get on without a epidural end up asking for one when its too late and then afterwards they are pleased cos they didnt have one. i would rather not have one but i do want one if its a long labour and i end up too exhausted to go on! i'm hoping that wont happen though cos labours in my family seem to be fairly short, hopefully i can carry on the family trend!Mummy to

Do you feel you have a lot to live up to? In my family, everyone had completely easy births - one had twins (7lbs+ each) naturally, with gas & air! I feel like I'll be a 'wuss' if I don't do as well as them.
I've not coped very well with pregnancy, don't know if I can take being rubbish at labour too!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Mollie - oh, ((Hugs)) not only are you pg you have arthritis to contend with as well.
Regarding HB if you read some of the birth stories some people say it's not as messy as you imagine. My MW actively encouraged it - my conservatory would be perfect as it's got wooden floors and a few sheets or shower curtains (as per redmel) would be quite mess free - I'm only 10 mins from hospital (5 with blue lights) so could get in relatively quickly if I needed to.
OH isn't keen though - I showed him Weezl's birthing room with the pool and he said no chance! His a bit of a worrier. I'd rather be at home than stressing in the hospital.
Feelie - I would think if it's too late it's too late but maybe someone with a bit of experience of this things will be along soon.

Ah feelie - all labours are different. You seem to be coping much better lately and will be fine in labour. You are not a wuss and don't let anyone tell you that - I remember giving blood once and saying I was a wuss for wanting a local anaethestic swab. They said you are not a wuss you are a hero for giving your blood to help others.
No matter what happens it's your labour and if it's easy that great but if it takes that little bit longer or you need something more than gas and air that's your choice. Do you even need to tell them about the labour details?!!
Lie and say it was push push out - will they even know? :rotfl:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
