I'm not quite as far as thinking days yet... I'm still weeks :) 10 and a bit weeks to go! Or as I like to think of it 3/4 done!

Note to self - do not let DH order pizza's from domino's... "they're really cheap at lunch" - yes dear... they will be if you order the "personal" size... They were TINY :rotfl: oh well - filled a hole and probably better for me than eating a huge pizza so guess I shouldn't moan too much :)

Also realised last night that actually bump isn't as big as I think it is... It looks a lot bigger and I look a lot fatter.... because the weight is making me slouch! Really badly! Soon as I straighten my back it looks absolutely fine and is a neat little bump :) Are there any bands or anything out there that might help prevent me slouching too badly that anyone can think of?

Felt quite chuffed with my figure once I straightened my back last night whilst looking in the mirror I have to say :) Yes there is a tiny extra bit on the hips but you'd have to know me to spot it. DH reacons I have even lost a little weight off the butt (nice of him to say - shame I KNOW it's got bigger because it don't fit in stuff like it used to - bump aside ;) )

    Right... hanging out washing... blaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Hi laydeez, not posted for a couple of weeks, just been catching up, honestly there's some cracking posts on here!

Well I'm 15 days over now  Since Sunday have been in hospital each day for monitoring, baby is good - heartbeat and movements fine, still lots of fluid around the baby so nothing to worry about.

Well nothing except the doctors that is... It seems as soon as you go over the hospitals 'late' date (which here is term + 12), they are all over you trying to get you induced. I should point out here that I am of the belief that there is no reason to interfere with baby just for the sake of it. And I appreciate a doctor's duty is to inform people; however you would not believe some of the absolute gems I have been told since Sunday...

"You CAN'T have a home birth once you get past 14 days" (Erm actually I can - and actually you can't tell me what to do or not do either, why do you think you can?)

"We're changing you from midwife-led care to consultant-led care and that's non-negotiable" (Fair enough if you're going to do that but don't put anywhere that I actually agreed to it!)

"We can't tell you what to do but..."

"The research shows that the risk of stillbirth after 42 weeks is..." (This research then - are you actually going to tell me which research it is because every one of you has given me different statistics and none of you have actually told me which piece of research you are referring to...)

"We prefer to induce you after 42 weeks to avoid any risk to baby" (So if you're going to tell me the risks of refusing induction, why aren't you balancing it out and telling me the risks of induction then?)

It's quite ironic when I talk to the midwives and they explain that actually, although I'm 15 days over my due date, there isn't anything wrong with me or baby that merits a hospital birth.

As you can probably tell I've got a bit of a bee in my bonnet about this so I'm going to go off now and take some deep breaths...!

15 days over???? OMG I'd be in there before I got to 5 days over let alone 15 demanding they get this baby out!
Possible risks of going that far over aside I'd definitely not want to a) wait to meet her and b) stop feeling like a whale (which is what I feel like most of the time now with 10 weeks to go...

But each to their own :)

(then again I'm one of the "stick me in hospital please - I want to be close to the drugs, the doctors and lots of midwives in case I need them" ladies so not really of the same school of thought to start with :)

    Hope it happens soon though!

Jo_R Don't you just love 'em?!? have they insisted you have daily MW visits?
When I informed my MW that I won't even consider induction before T+14 unless bubs is in distress she said, we can't force you to be induced and we will be happy to discuss it at the time but the consultant may insist you come to the ward or have MW visit everyday to make sure baby is ok I said "fine" :p can't put me off that easily :D

Oh no no more probs, but I've not seen her for a while, since just after I had my CVS, never mentioned this before but the night before CVS I psychoed out and tried to get him out of my house and the police were called, so everyone was alerted, he didnt actually do anything except wind me up but I created mary hell.
ANyway, she kept telling me I shouldnt get back with him because his aggressiveness, i dont think they beleived that it was actually me who threw a paddy that night, but I can see where they were coming from.
Anyway, we are getting o just fine now, I explained thats to her today and she was surprisingly fine about it.
But I'm down on their books as a 'family in more need' or something like that, god chavtastic!
I dont mind thjough, we have ntohing to hide and at the end of the day I am glad that they are doing their jobs properly, maybe if there were more HV's like her little baby P wouldnt be dead (not that me or OH are like that, but you know what I mean....i hope :o)
Also because of my previous history of depression and PND I get more home visits from her which has made me feel a bit more at ease, I'm scared of it happening again and having a bit more contact with them will make it easier for me to tell them if I do feel low.
Chav!! :p;) Glad everything is going well!! Give him a pat on the back from me :D
on ur last post about ur Kim n aggie visit, when she arrives tell her how awful you feel because you are soo tired and bump gets in the way the house is a complete pigsty - She'll probably take pity and clean the place for you!!;)

MrsTine - oh believe me I feel like a massive beached whale! But then I figure I have done for weeks now, a couple more won't make much difference - but remind me I said that next time I need a hand up from lying down/sitting up/getting in the car/picking stuff up :rotfl:

    - no not needed daily MW visits, it was suggested a few days ago somewhere along the line but as have been going to the hospital each day for monitoring I guess that would cover it.

Also they can insist but that doesn't mean you have to do what they're saying - I'm a consultant's worst nightmare by now I think...

emlou, if you go into labour between now and then, will you have to cancel the appointment? I can't imagine ever remembering to cancel a midwife appointment within a week of giving birth lol.... Mind you, I suppose they'd know when they have to do the community visiting...

I have a load of washing to peg out and just checked metcheck... It says from 12 it's going to be raining, then from 3 it will be sleeting... But it's bright blue skies outside at the minute! Do I risk it or not?!
They cancel the app for you, ;) they tell you that here and I'm like as if I care I can barely remember to turn up to them now never mind cancel if I had a newborn!

I'm currently looking out on a winter wonder land veiw - crazy it all came down in about 30mins!
I know this may sound like a silly question but someone posted a few days ago about the car seat they had chosen not fitting in their car (sorry can't remember who)

Is there a site that tells you what car seats are compatible with what car?
Maxi cosi and britax test their seats in most cars, lists below other wise go to mothercare or halfords or if ur lucky like me ur local council to find out which seats are compatible :D
    Maxi-Cosi fit list
    Britax - Fit-Finder
