One thing, am I allowed to use the flash with the newborn? I notice most peoples 'first' baby pictures are blurry - is there a reason why I can't use the flash?

I'm not taking enough after mum to be able to do with what she did - she wore her prepregnancy jeans when she left hospital! but then unlike everyone else on the maternity ward she looked like she'd never given birth after she had me. So much so that people didn't realise I was hers if they hadn't spoken to her before I arrived. So unfair...

I did this too! With no 1 I had a planned C section, and I remember lying on the operating table after they had sewed me back up, and looking down and thinking where has my bump gone! I left hospital 5 days later wearing a pair of jogging bottoms (not maternity) in my pre-pregnancy size. With no 2 I had a VBAC and again was in the shower after the birth thinking where has my bump gone. I then had a huge post partum haemorredge and was very poorly and in hospital for 10 days, and left in a pair of jeans which had been too small for me before I got pregnant. Both times I had a normal size bump so it wasn't that I didn't put a lot of weight on in pregnancy. I think it is the luck of your genes (ho ho!) as to how quickly you snap back into shape, but if your mum did quickly there must be a chance you will too.
  • No-one mentioned not using a flash. Blurry maybe as hands are shaking??

Will dig out first photo of my DS and see if its blurry

LOL don't worry!!! And more to the point: Go home in what you think YOU will be comfy in :) Sod what anyone thinks :)

In that case, I'll be coming home in my pyjamas :rotfl: (I've lived in them for so long now, I dread the thought of having to revert back to normal clothes!)

There's no reason why you can't use a flash hun.

Maybe those people you are talking about either haven't held the camera still, have a crap camera, or just can't take photos well lol x
