Weelzl I'd like a piccy I'm very nosey
Thought I'd post the link to this story, its very rare but it is VERY important to make sure you let doctors know if you have/get a cold sore around the time you give birth http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090227/tuk-mother-s-kiss-killed-newborn-tot-dba1618.html0 -
Weezl, I'm nosey, does that count?
I've also pulled a muscle in my side and finally had to take paracetamol (usually I'm reluctant as you end up hurting yourself worse iyswim).
I've no idea what's going to happen with my kids. If just giving birth is not bad enough I have to find a baby sitter for one day a week, every week during the school holidays to take them from 8.30am till after 5pm when I have to go to the day ward for my checks. MIL 'said' she will take them, but she has let us down so often that I'd much rather find someone else.0 -
thanks Mel, that's the sort of detail of people's birth stories I really like, helps me to get my head round the whole thing IYSWIM?
So are you going to try to be at home for as long as you can? Wanna borrow my TENS or pool?!
Birthing room all set up now here at Weezl towers. I can post a piccie if people are interested in that sort of thing....
Love
Weezl x

I know you may have trouble as one son has special needs but I know if I were a CM I wouldn't turn away a special needs child without first finding out exactly what extra care would be needed.
The CM I used when working was lovely, I still see her at mum n toddlers and she offered to have Chris overnight if I needed her to while I give birth :A0 -
I read in my book that often women fell that thy need to take pregnancy 'like a man', and just try to carry on as normal and not get special treatment.
I had a meeting with a client today and i made a point of buttoning up my jacket so that he could not tell I was pregnant (I am 19 weeks!) as i thought it looks unprofessional to be pregnant - am I the only one who thinks like that? Am i mad???0 -

Sami - that story is heartbreaking...not something I would have known about either (although I wouldn't kiss any baby if I had a coldsore).

I think the 'problem' is that in work women sometimes try to be more masculine to show authority and power IYSWIM and the fact you are visibaly pregnant shows that you are a caring nurturing person which doesn't fit with your work persona
Does that make sense?0
