Got another docs appointment tomorrow - list of questions from work to ask her *sigh* and then the fact that everyone thinks as I have said I struggle to do long car journeys then trips to central london will be soooo much easier... yeah... right...
cos sitting in rush hour on the train for an hour, then 3 underground trains and a 2 mile walk the other end will be sooooo much better for me - dragging a laptop around - and then sitting at a hotdesk which I will bet you is in a corner with the worst chairs in the office (as all hot desks everywhere are...) and certainly not good for my back... I've just had enough now...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
mrs tine you are certainly having a rough time at work.
hope you manage to sort something better out'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

Went to see MW this morning:
Wee fine (despite having thrown a full sample over my bathroom floor this morning - tiled thankfully!!)
BP fine (despite having had a barney with my assistant just before I left)
Bubba is 2 fifths engaged (which means 3 fifths of his little head is firmly inside my pelvis - say from the top of his head to the bottom of his nose).
Movements fine (apart from the fact that he makes me cry sometimes with his bony elbows and he was trying to kick his dad out of bed this morning)
Swelling most likely to just be one of those late pregnancy things (although it had gone down this morning so I could wear my wedding ring again - yay)
But!!
My bump measurements now put Bubba on the 90th centile line...which means that I am going for a growth scan on Monday to see how big he actually is and to check that he has enough fluid in there to keep him going.
That is...if he isn't here by Monday - the MW & the student MW seemed pretty convinced that he is working his way out...famous last words lol!!
MFD - i was wondering where you were, forgot that you would have MW appt, sorry.
wow, engaged that far. amazing isn't it. i was only saying yesterday i can't get over how your body knows what do do.
as one of the MW said when i was up at the hospital (even though my bubs isn't engaged yet) ... "he has found his exit".0 -
Thanks Shelvis - I would normally jump at the chance but I doubt I would use them by then and they would go to waste.
My day is just getting worse and worse, I have been sent more sh1tty emails, been shouted at by a GP's wife who then put the phone down on me, had a really pathetic and ridiculous complaint letter in which makes me want to rip it up and I look like !!!!!!. Excuse my language.
Think I'll book tomorrow off, have a line in with OH and countdown to MW.
Oh yeah, wanted to ask - do they do an internal at first visit? If so, I will need to have a shave!
ThanksA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Glam, so sorry your day isn't getting any better.
Take the day off tomorrow, sounds like a good idea.
As for internals, I am 36 weeks and I haven't had an internal yet. Admittedly I haven't had any problems until recently.0 -

Thanks
The only internal I've ever had with either of my two was in labour to check how dilated I was! I'm fairly sure its not standard practice at any point in pregnancy unless there is a specific need to do one (eg to check the cervix is closed where mc is threatened).0 -

Thanks
i had my first appointment on fri but she just gave me the form for free meds, filled in the big green book and gace me leaflets on the screenings you can have and took my blood pressure...
maybe they do more at the antenatal appointment...'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Sampainter - I hope the sweep works for you..but the following day, to allow you to enjoy your birthday:)
MFD - Glad the midwife appt went well and he is nicely engaged now. I'm sure the scan will be fine, it may just be the position he was lying when you got measured that has come out bigger?
Tia - I would be furious if other people(except dh and kids) got to see my baby before me, I don't hink you are being unreasonable at all.
I am off to the midwife in an hour so hopefully everyting is fine as I am 37wks tom so can have a HB from then... Might nip to town afterwards as I have just sorted the boys wardrobes out and they have ended up with barely any clothes left - poor sods!
The Chinese gender chart has predicted all of mine correctly!!
I will report back on midwife appt later.

Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Thank god - I was sure I had read somewhere that they do an examination to feel the uterus. My frazzled brain may have dreamed it up though.
Will have a shave just in case
Jillie - where are you being seen for AN appt? Is that at hospital?
I'm am getting confused - seeing MW tomrrow but am sure GP said I would see consultant the week after that. Not sure what gets done when - oh well in 24 hours time, I will be just gettign ready to leave so hopefully all will become clear.
AF - I'm booking tomorrow off now. ThanksA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Apparently that is what the braxton hicks are designed to do...lodge him in there and push him down :rotfl: (my words not theirs!!)
Can you believe that all the time people were telling me I was massive I was measuring as fine...now I am just 'heavily pregnant' he seems to have decided to grow!! I'm sure he was sticking his bum out though (he does sometimes) and he was definitely all on one side of my bump (another favourite trick of his) so if I was measured again now whilst he is asleep it could well be different!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
