Right I hope this makes sense
I was going to have a 2d scan and ask them to tell just me the sex (most likely OH, Chris and my mum will all be there) the scan cost £95 but I've seen that at the same place a 4d scan costs the same, I don't want to see the face and don't want others to know the sex tho  do you think here is any point in getting the 4D one done??
The 2D one you get; we will measure baby, check babys organs to exclude any major abnormalities, check the fluid around baby and give you an estimate of your baby's weight. Includes a report and 2D (b/w) images
The 4D one you get ; 10 minute reassurance or sexing scan in 4D with two glossy 3D colour photos and a DVD

I'm thinking they'll be able to tell me the sex from the 2D one so its prob best to go with that one, although I don't need the measurements etc.
Part of me wonders if the 3D pics would show up something that wouldn't show on the 20wk scan as I'm still worried about the risk from my MMR jab

Latest in the saga from work... they have now decided they DO want me to see an occ health doctor... they can book this in the next week - fine said I - where? "Oh yeah... that's a slight hitch... Kingscross, London"... right so when my doctor said she didn't want me to travel long distances - like an hours drive or on train and underground to Soho... you thought that because Kingscross is a different station that would be SO much better right???
Seriously! And they are now dragging up the H&S issue of my home not having been H&S assessed again yet they didn't mention that ONCE at the last interview. Infact they were insinuating it wasn't really an issue the issue was that I should be office based and that was to network. Suddenly that's changing again and it's driving me up the wall. I feel like I should just go in to work and then make a claim against them when I can't move after a week of travelling.

Is it very wrong that I am hoping this one is a girl just so that MIL (who had 3 boys) doesn't add to her 'oh luckily you've only 2 boys, I had 3!' and starts 'Oh well I had 3 and I managed ok by myself, FIL didn't even change a NAPPY!'!!!

In all honesty another boy would be more practicle but I have a feeling it's a girl and a girl would be soooo nice....

DH and I can't even pick any names we both like never mind picking possible names!!

Mrs.Tine, they are being utter pigs!!! Is it not about time you just sign off sick? You get full pay don't you? Oh and also see a lawyer about unreasonable behavour....

No I saw it on the internet but it probably is in the books as it has a biological basis.

Saying that I do think I am probably having a girl this time (hoping it's not just wishing thinking)

Reason is we didn't use contraception because we thought it was safe time. As it was 3+ days before I ovulate. So hopefully all the little boy ones would have died off by the time I conceived.
    you may be right :D
"The Shettles' method believes that the closer to ovulation you have sex the more likely it is that you will have a boy. However, if you have sex two or three days prior to the egg being released, you have a better chance of having a girl."
apparently shettle's method is the most reliable

I wonder where we get these thing from tho..
    Old wives tales

    For a boy:
    • Allow your partner to seduce you into sex first
    • Eat red meat and salty snacks
    • Have intercourse at night
    • Have intercourse on the odd days of the month
    • Have intercourse during a quarter moon
    For a girl
    • Seduce your partner
    • Eat fish and vegetables and have a high-dairy diet
    • Have intercourse in the afternoon
    • Have intercourse on the even days of the month
    • Have intercourse during a full moon

Hubby has 2 t-shirts on the list because we are hoping for a water birth so he may get a bit wet...but also because if I have to go anywhere in the first hour or so (if something should go wrong) then they ask hubby to put the baby under his t-shirt so he has some skin-to-skin contact...we thought that baby would like it more if it wasn't a minging t-shirt that had been worn for hours and stank of deoderant/sweat!!

I have also packed trunks for hubby although he doesn't want to get in the birthing pool with me at least there is an option if we have his trunks. ;) Apparently men don't say no if their labouring ladies want them in there :rotfl:

as fellow water-birther, can I ask if you plan on keeping any kit on at all? I'm not sure whether a bikini bra and massive t shirt would be comfortable or just an annoying hindrance!:D

did you see what I put about the miracle cure stuff to throw in the water? Did it ring any bells? :D

Not for the duration no... I'd drop to 50% pay and at the moment they are not approving my annual leave incase I'm off sick... tosh!

Weezl, I had a waterbirth in a big t-shirt nightie, no bra...
FG, I didn't need the TV on in the delivery suite... I was too busy giving birth!
Also Didn't eat anything either... They offered me a sandwich at lunch time but I just didn't want it... I did eat a giant bowl of shreddies when I started getting contractions so they must of given me plenty of energy... Will be raisin wheats this time though since I gave up nestle...
Greent, keep your weightloss to yourself if you dont mind :p
MFD, can you reclaim the hiccups please, they're doing my head in now!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
