    Today I recieved this.

    Dear XXXX

Many thanks for recently completing our mystery shopping project on motor insurance; your input has been of great value to our research.

I am pleased to be able to inform you that your payment has been authorised and your cheque for £50 has been sent via 2nd class mail today Tuesday 10th March. Should you have any problems with your payment please do not hesitate to contact me via return email.

I would like to ask, if you have been satisfied with your payment and the process of the mystery shopping exercise, would you kindly post a blog on the Money Saving Expert website this will help us recruit shoppers in the future and allay any preconceptions of this being a scam. If you are not satisfied in any way at all please let me know how you feel we can make things work better in the future.

Once again thank you for your interest.

    Kind regards

    Shirley Cooley
Actually them encouraging people to post here saying positive things could potentially have had the opposite effect to what they anticipated. I saw the high number of people posting in this thread where it was their first ever post on the forum and they were saying it wasn't a scam, and that inevitably leads to an assumption that they are spammers. Glad I saw your post, which put a slightly different light on matters.
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Very disappointed to see that the latest recruitment drive was publicised on June 26th yet I only received the email at lunchtime today. Not worth me applying now, these places would surely all have gone on the first day.

    Hi All,
Just thought I would let everyone know that both my partner & I did this same survey last year and got paid 50.00 each!!
It can be quite long-winded ESPECIALLY if you have to hold for long periods of time, but it is still a good return for very little effort.
Good Luck to those of you who have applied. Our insurances aren't up for renewal otherwise I might have had another go!!!
  • thanks, just signed up, i hope i get picked out :T
  • Hi folks,

I signed up for this despite some initial reservations about data security.

However, I received my cheque today for what amounted to about 3 hours' work. Very pleased, happy to recommend!

    Hi nottsphil

Just to let you know, I updated the details in the top post on 26 June but most people would have seen this in the tip at the same time as you on 1 July.

Also, this is not a 'first come first served' mystery shop, it's more to do with when your insurance is due to be renewed, so do still apply if you'd like to be considered :)

  • I've just signed up - Waiting to see what happens now. I renew my car insurance this month, so I spend time searching anyway, so getting paid for it would be a big bonus
I want to be debt free, but I have a HUGE mortgage.

The interest is lower than savings rates at the moment though, so I'm SAVING like mad......

If the rates change then I'll start OVERPAYING again.

I applied for this a few weeks ago but didn't hear until nearer my car renewal date. Last week I rang the companies given, filled in the short questionaires and got an email yesterday to say the cheque will be with me shortly. My OH car insurance is due in September, does anyone know if he can apply too?

I registered ages ago and forgot all about this. I just received an email looking for people to carry out internet car insurance quotes for a £25 reward.

As my car insurance is up for renewal at the start of September, and I would normally use the internet anyway, I have filled in their mini survey and await their decision.
No reliance should be placed on the above.
