Thanks Quentin,
We are actually mentioned in a guide, check: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance .
But i get the impression the forum would like me to shut-up. So i will.
IanYou cannot use these forums to "answer questions" about your business! (Unless it is a well known "household name".)0 -
Ian,
As you mention you 'qualify' to reply on the forums, and it is good any company who takes an interest to do so, as mentioned previously it is only in the interest of the users that you are asked to approach MSE so they can establish that you truly represent Consumer Intelligence.
Personally I've received a cheque from one of your last surveys, so I'll say thanks now!0 -
I also got an odd cheque that the bank won't take.0

"The companies that we are testing are not just the ones that we monitor or who pay us. We act totally independently, the last piece of work we did was not actually sold to anyone, it was entirely for ourselves, to work out what is going on in the market. So no insurers were contacted."
I have to challenge you Ian on this one. There is an ad on tv for car insurance at the moment and the small print at the bottom says "Consumer Intelligence (Nov 09) 99% find cheaper car insurance" or something to that effect.
I did the online comparison surveys in November, which took closer to 3 hours than the 30 minutes you say. I've yet to be paid and have emailled 3 different people in your company and had no response, and yet the results are already being used in a car insurance advert on tv!
Whether your company is a scam or not remains to be seen but it is certainly poorly run. Shoddy, Ian, very shoddy indeed.0 -
I've replied to IanCHughes PM and he has replied back.
Still awaiting two £5 cheques I am told one will arrive shortly but the 2nd £5 cheque is "only if my address is used" but I don't see that written anywhere in the email they sent me..
Apparently this is being checked..0 -
Apparently a £10 cheque is on its way to me.. I will wait and see.0

I had an email on Monday from Ian Hughes saying my first cheque must have been lost in the post  and a replacement was being sent out that day.
Well it's finally arrived but is for £10 - not the £25 plus £5 Ian Hughes promised in his email to me.0 -
A positive result for me.
I received my £25 cheque as promised (just before Christmas), in addition to the £5 cheque which arrived a few weeks earlier.0 -
Got my remaining £10 as a cheque the other week, cheers!0

After another mess up where I was sent a cheque for £10 when it should have been £25, Ian Hughes intervened and I received a further £50 and a hand written letter of apology.
Perhaps Consumer Intelligence has been a victim of its own success and didn't have the admin to back up the work they had put out.
Hopefully it's all sorted now.0
