I got a random policeman in my local police station to certify mine if it makes you feel any better
Hello
Local police said no it is not something they do!!
Same with local council so I telephoned a local solicitor in the end and explained my dilemma he agreed to sign them all for me for £10 so have an appointment with him on Friday morning now, this is all I am waiting for then I can send the form off!
We receive one of the qualifying benefits for the maximum allowances so I already know what I am going to receive and I do understand why they need to be so vigilant even if it is a bit of a pain
Thanks again0 -

I had similar issues with my form! In the end, I realised one of my friend's relatives classed as a "civil servant" so they were able to do it.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

It is amazingly difficult to decide, it has taken me all in all about 2 months to decide on these 3 courses and I still have not decided for definate which degree I want them to count towards!
Open degree? So you can decide what modules you want to do.
Has anyone used the OU careers services? I'm totally clueless as to what I want to do when I graduate. I've looked into a few things and am really not sure.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hello
I am the same I know I want to work in the IT area but not 100% sure which job or area specifically, if I am reading the finance forms correctly you need to link your study modules to a degree but this can be changed at any stage in the future so for the moment I am linking mine to the "Computing" degree which is a bit of an all rounder and will decide in a few months after starting the modules.
I am hoping that when I start studying I will naturally find an area that appeals to me then choose from the "set" BSC degree's available that will be relivant to that field of work, simply re-allocate the study modules from the computing degree to the one I eventually decide upon.
I have at least 12 months to decide whilst I get the level 1 modules out of the way, I have chosen the 3 based on them being relevant to most of the IT degrees available so in theory it should all be still open to me in 12 months.
I did see the open degree as an option but have not looked into this, dont know why I forgot all about it lol
HTH best of luck0 -
i got mine signed by someone who works in the local job center. If you recieve benefits then they sign them for free0

I'm wary of working towards an Open Degree simply because I'm sure I'd spend my lifetime explaining to an employer exactly what I'd studied/what it meant.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

That's what I'm working towrds at the moment, simply because my other options meant having to work in the field already. To be honest, a lot of employers respect that you have shown enough dedication to get a degree whilst working... plus quite a few people don't actually work in a field related to their degree.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Hi Charlotte
To be honest with you, DD131 bored me quite a lot and it was really quite complex in places. I don't think our assignment booklet was very well set out and the text repeated itself quite a lot. That said, I've had a little look at the DSE141 stuff today and it looks a lot better. Everything seems a lot better explained and much more interesting...although I may be changing my mind about that one by the end! Is the 60 pointer going to be your first course or have you done another one previously? What are you studying towards?
hi, im sorry i have only just seen this. i am curently doing a openings course, starting with law, at the moment i am just thinking i hope i can get to 120 points:rotfl:but aiming for an open degree i think xHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
