    Xmas Saver!
Hi - I registered for the October 2010 course for K101 and sent off the financial support docs. Had an e-mail today that says I have been awarded the course fee of £650 but it doesn't mention the rest of the support that I applied for, does this mean I won't be getting it? Also when I tried to register for the course and pay the course fee as it said in the e-mail it looks like they now have moved my course to February? Does anyone else have any info on these issues please. I'm from Wales so financial support may be different to England, Scotland and Ireland.

    Hi
Thats brilliant news that the grant has got sorted, if its Disability side you've applied for its a different dept, from my experience it was about a month before when i had my assesment, sticks in mind as I;d brought a laptop ready (on dads credit card - with an iou!!).

I had a course move as well, it was due to be Feb 10 start, but they brought it forward to Oct 09..... my plan was had exam Oct 09, and was going to take time out. The thing is the courses are literally allocated a year in advance, and it could be a number of factors, such as not enough students in your catchment area, tutor availibilty, cross-over with over courses. I know its a pain, esp if your like me and it took a year to take the plunge originally.

    xx

I opened my box - been sat on side for few days, doing a sports course - def not me, but needed to get the extra points, now if you can imagine I'm more Dawn French than Kate Moss, I waddle on crutches and a gym, the last time I saw the inside of one, 5 yrs ago, ended up pulling my hamstring, and due to disability, it wasn't the best move...... opened the box and the 1st thing I see id a heart rate monitor!!

The course does say, sport, nutrition and something else, but not like exercise based....... me thinks the tutorial could be a laugh..... xx

    That's funny! :rotfl:

Seriously though, it could be good for everyone on the course to have an
'unusual' participant! We aren't all the same after all.

My course is a late start October one, so thankfully my October exam (14th) will be well in the past by then. I don't think my next course (K272) is going to be too challenging since I've just done it's sister course (K225) - should be just enough for me to study through Winter

    Hey everyone-

Ive registered on M150 and T175, financial support confirmed by email and now all registered! I saw that M150 has already been dispatched, so hopefully will get mine soon! Do they send much?

    Kieran

Hi! I'm doing both of these courses too :D, i've had the M150 stuff delivered by dhl. It's the size of a large shoe box i'd say, with loads of A4 booklets in.

I have no idea what happens next though.
  • Hey,
The forums should open soon if youve had your material through, my advise is to use these a lot, It's a great way to make things clearer and keep you motivated on it! Good luck!:j
  • I've registered by phone now for the course that starts October so should receive my documents etc soon. Is there a way you can retract an application on-line?? I am also enroled on a fulltime course in college so the 2nd course I previously registered for is now going to be too much. The lady on the phone said any other financial support will be sorted soon. I'm not waiting for DSA just to see if I qualify for the other support.
Hopefully everything will arrive soon. :)

Usually, to drop any courses (even ones that haven't started) you need to phone them. They don't let you do it online because they want you to talk to an adviser so that they're sure you know what you're doing. Also, I can imagine that some people will click the button just to "see what happens" or by accident.

Has anyone had the website tell them their PI doesn't exist?

Not had my username yet as just registered today but I'm told I should be able to access some stuff with my PI but it tells me it's not recognised...

I called the helpline and the guy said he can't see any reason why it won't let me in as I definitely exist under that PI.

I'm wondering if it's worth me calling tech support?

Sorry bestpud i have no idea, but a query of my own:

It says i am a self registered user and there's nowhere to add my PI so there's no reference to me being a student? Considering i'm doing IT courses i am not off to a good start LOL. :rotfl:
