  • Hi! I'm planning to do the Computing & IT degree @ Open uni this Feb.

Does anyone know if Student Finance's part time tuition loan system is separate from the full time one? I've attempted courses at 'brick' uni's before which has eaten up some of my loan entitlement. I believe I can get most of my years back via "compelling personal reasons" but it'd be nice to know if I don't have to worry about it.

As far as I know they have never been seperate. They are both administered through the SLC, you would need to contacct them or OU directly; a forum is not the place for specific up to date concrete information.

Part time is separate, but you will still lose some of your entitlement. The difference is it's taken out of 16 years rather than 4 years.

Professional Certificate in Management, Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management, Professional Diploma in Management, Masters of Business Administration, DSE 212 for fun.

Just about to start last course in MSc Human Resource Management.

My name is Cazzie and I'm an OU addict!

    Hi Cassie

I know this is a legacy thread but am doing some research and came across this.

I am looking into doing the Professional Certificate of Management and moving onto the MBA but wanted to know whether you thought it was worth? Do you think they are recognized and would help progression? I don't have a BA / other university degree.

Thanks for any advise you can give!

I am thinking about living and working in Singapore for 6 months, so it should be okay to study there and return for the exams?

Is there a thread regarding open university that is ongoing, this one seems very quiet!

I have tried searching but this is the only one I could find.

    TIA
