Hi Alyth, only started in Feb but so far so good. Very broad intro which I hadn't expected but it is interesting learning about things I wouldn't normally have touched on. How about you?

Yes I started in Feb as well - and I'm finding it very easy to be honest, I can zoom through a chapter a night, I struggled with Faustus a bit but I'm on Stalin at the moment which is great as I'm really into Chinese history so can tie it in with that, but I'm not sticking to the timetable as such, I'm dipping in and out as I've read through all the TMAs and am making notes for even as far as TMA 7 - my mum has a maths & stats degree through the OU and has taught me the art of looking ahead!

Did you manage to get your extension? My tutor basically emailed me back re: the word count and said "do it yourself" or equivalent. Anyhow, I could NOT say everything I wanted to within the recommended word allowance for question one, so I went over by about 100 words and shaved 50 words each off questions 2 and 3. My total word count was 9 words under the allowed 1,500.

The TMA was submitted at 11.58pm on deadline day, and I know it's nowhere near as good as I'm capable of doing, but everything else in life seemed to get in the way this past week! Still, at least it's in on time, and with any luck it can be my substituted assignment. :)

W100 people, what's your TMA02 been on? Forgot how quickly the TMAs came around for this course.

Got my TMA01 back for W200 and got 80% which I was really pleased about as they gave a warning about grades dropping when moving from W100 to W200. Second assignment due in 22 April. Gives me a few weeks to make revision notes for the first 7 chapters and write the assignment as well as plough onto the next lot of units! :rotfl:

Have just had the paperwork for W201 starting Feb 2010. Need to do 2 other modules at the end of this year. Also need to find the funds to do them!

    Hi everyone,

I am studying E844 at present to complete my Advanced Diploma in Language and Literacy. My last course was U211, which I really loved- my current course isn't as good I don't think, but am really looking forward to the research component.

I am in the East Midlands- anyone else?

just a though re word count, but check ur info that 1st came with the course, I know on my last business course, re going over word count it said that the 1st time u go over word count think it said 10%, u dont get peanilised, after that u loose marks, think it was the book that explains how to submit etma. If it is in there may be worth holding as a bonus card x

Sounds like youve had the week from hell, hope ur feeling better, def take a break before starting the next bolck, hope FIL goes on ok,
I know tutors can give a weeks extension, but if push comes to shove and there are very gd circumstances they can give upto 3 weeks, but they have to get permission for that. xx
