Hi,
I've been having a flick through this thread as I am considering starting one of the shorter 10/15 credit courses, mainly to see if I like the way of studying and if I have the motivation to complete a course without having to attend somewhere. Earlier this year I completed a BA (Hons) at a brick uni and now want to do something different.
Anyway I was wondering what you get at the end of the course to show you have done it? Do you get a certificate or do you get like a transcript to show the course and the grade? I'm presuming you get something for every course no matter how small but I can't find the answer anywhere!
Thanks!Challenge savings 2010-2016 £1564.60:j

Hi Observer, with the OU you can print your transcript of where you currently are at any time and then apply for any certificates/diplomas etc that you earn along the way.
You will have to pay for all of your courses as you already have a degree. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Thanks. So I don't actually get anything untill I have done enough credits for say a certificate but I do have an online transcript I can print? Ok thats good thanks.
Paying was the other reason I was going to start off small, I can spread the money out a bit thenThank you x

They used to send letters out with module results, but stopped this as now they put them online. You can still print the letters off yourself, or you can also print the transcript off.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Everyone seems so organised i'm far from that i'm currently waiting for the Y177 understanding society course to begin. This is only a 15 point course but i've not been in the education system for over 20 years and thought it best to take things slowly. I've already registered for the DD131 social sciences course next may but that depends on how i do with Y177. I'd love to find someone whose doing the same course but alas it seems like no one is. I got the reading materials afew days ago and have only made sure everything was included, i might delve into the book this weekend.0
