Just got my materials today, so excited! Also wanted to do SDK125 but I got put on a waiting list, so maybe I'll have to do that next time it comes round. Not going to think about future modules yet, I think with Psychology a lot of them are compulsory.OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0

I'm struggling with the 3rd book just understanding the accounting...I'm sure when I finally get allocated a teacher that I'll be ok, just with work, family and OU, its going to be a tight squeeze! Its great to know there are people on here that have some insight into it as for the most part my family don't really care...its great that you're all so supportive! Thank you 0 0

I'm sure that for the ECA you get a choice, so if you really can't do the 3rd book it isn't the end of the world. You can substitute that TMA (although try it, as it counts towards the mark you get) and then pick a different question at the end.DomRavioli wrote: »I'm struggling with the 3rd book just understanding the accounting...I'm sure when I finally get allocated a teacher that I'll be ok, just with work, family and OU, its going to be a tight squeeze! I found the accounting side a bit more difficult than the others, but I can now read a balance sheet, and profit and loss, in untechnical terms.
From what memory serves from the TMA its not as hard going as the book, (if that makes sence) - also do you till get 10% allowance on tma for submitting on tgf and writing a 200 word summary of one of the discussions on tma, - if the worst came to the worst, and you scored ay 30%, then the 10% would bring you back up.
I know it does allow a substitution, but there are few courses that don't allow that, so I would aim for pem to paper, even if you know its not your best subject, as any mark will help towards the overall score.
One night I was doing an assisgnment, ended up ringing the tutor in floods of tears, I'd spent days and days (felt like an eternity) and it just wouldn't sink in, there advice was do what I can, I think I did 2/3rd of the assisgnment and got 40, yet I thought be lucky to get a 10. I even sat a 3hr exam and passed.
Sounds like your going great guns, take a couple of days off, and then come back to it, it could be a case of fresh eyes may do the trick, sink in. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

They include the old TMA score in the substitution formula. So without trying to bore anyone with the maths, if you don't submit then 0 will be used. If you do submit and get something, even a low score, that score will be used - so your overall substituted grade will be higher coz whatever you get is higher than 0!I know it does allow a substitution, but there are few courses that don't allow that, so I would aim for pem to paper, even if you know its not your best subject, as any mark will help towards the overall score.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
