I started in 2003 when I was a Learning Support Assistant in secondary school.
MU120 Open Maths
TU170 short course, forgot the name!
T171 You, Your Computer and the Net
M150 Data Computing and Information
MST121 Using Maths - did the last 3 in the same year, hard work!
MA290 History of Maths
ME courses for a Grad Dip Maths Education ME624 (KS3), ME625 (Algebra), ME626 (Stats), ME627 (Geometry). Also summer school.
BM240 Quantitive methods in Business. Would have done M248 Analyising Data instead but the start time was too far away.
E243 Inclusive Education.
ED209 Child Development
Finally graduated June 2009, then did GTP and I'm now a maths teacher in secondary :j but there were many more courses I would have liked to do with the OU. I loved it, especially the race to get the TMA in on time and waiting for the post or logging on continually for results!! Their forums, First Class are excellent too.

I wondered if anyone can help... I am just about to complete the K101 introduction to health and social care. Started in Oct 2010 but had to defer the exam, which I sit next week. I have decided to have a change in career for the time being, so have signed up to other courses for my back up. I will be using these qualifications to gain a job for a few years until in a position to apply to university.
I have signed up for the TU100 my digital life starting in Feb... the into to bookeeping and accounting the short course that starts in nov and the financial accounting that starts in May. I know I can apply for financial help for the tu100 and the financial accounting, but the short course one says you can only apply for financial help if you are a new student or are using it towards a degree.
I have looked into degrees and the financial accounting is compulsory in the business degree and the tu100 is optional. Does anyone know if I can get financial help if I work towards the business degree? Even though I have just completed a course thats not relevant to it?
Sorry for the long post, just a bit confused with the ins and outs lol.0 -

At a quick thought theres 2 options, either go for an open degree, or if u do the business degree, generally theres 60 points that are "choose yourself", theres usually a list on the page what additional courses that you can do.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I started off studying English Literature with the OU, then transferred to Stirling Uni. I now have a degree in Scottish Literature, over the summer I decided I wanted to study an MA in the Ancient Epic at Durham, so I've gone back to the OU to study some Classical Studies courses.
All I can say is, wow! I'm actually putting in more hours with the OU than I was at a brick and mortar university. I love the fact that I can listen to the CD's several times, instead of panic writing in 'blink and you'll miss it' lectures.
I'm studying Beginning Classical Latin and The Classical World - and having so much fun!0 -
Hi guys,
I'm an OU newbie, who starts her B120 in 3 weeks towards a BA(Hons) Business with Economics...I have to say I am cacking myself! Its been a long time since I was in education, and missed out on full time uni because of health issues. Any top tips for someone just starting off, as I have a TMA to be in on the 26th November...I start on the 2nd November!!0 -
I am doing level 3 modules at the OU from February as I am topping up my HND from 7 years ago from another uni. So im sure your level 1 modules will be ok as uni's generally guide you0
