  • Bad news for stamp collectors...

Not really, I thought the true value was in the collection of mint stamps or ones complete with the stamp franked and still on the enveloped and not steamed off.

why would people want to travel to a mail centre?

    I would.

If there were dedicated counters at sorting offices that were open say until 7pm that just did mail (not passports, exchange and pensions) and had carparks so that people with a mountain of stuff to post could park easily and get it posted without the stress of a normal postoffice queue.

Plenty of stamp collectors just steam off used stamps.

If the PO made more effort to frank post properly then tamper proof stamps would not be needed...

But you don't need to post a mountain of stuff now you're banned from selling on ebay.:rotfl:

I still have an ebay account, but I seldom use it.

I've moved on to bigger and better things, and now have even more post to deal with...

What an odd question, I would assume the majority of us don't unless it is genuinely unused and then I would just use a new sticker label over the wrong address.

I kind of agree with you on one point, a car park please at a post office.

I usually try and walk to the local PO but some Mondays particularly I have too much stuff to physically manage even with a shopping style trolley (books are bulky!) so I am forced to take a car. Unfortunately there is no parking anywhere near the main PO and the local POs all have yellow lines outside. I got a parking ticket last month (so sore point as it was my first ever) all because I was trying to make a small living selling and posting things. I can't even say I will never use the car to the PO again as the moment i have a good run of heavy books sales plus ebay stuff I will have to drive.
