Right, first things first i'm really sorry i have been AWOL AGAIN!!
I keep missing things and it's annoying.Organised Christmas Cupboard
*LOTS of Hamper bits, ie smellies, trinkets etc
*Dave's Nan- Hamper(superdrug soap, soap holder-£1 ish/Radox smellies)
*Cuddly toys (for the kids in the families)
*ONE CHRISTMAS ADVENT ITEM(brought although a bargain, i'm really jealous of whoever gets it)
I've been buying mostly when there are promos. Brought an 11 piece baby set for 99p on ebay, excellent for nappy cakes.
Talking of EBAY i'm well chuffed, i've made my first couple of sales and got £9 out of two lush items (the ones i got from the grab bags)and i'm planning on more (am only selling light items until i have enough money to be able to pay for postage on the bigger items)
Mel's Challenges
1. I have SO many shop brought cards from years and ears ago (the same goes for tags), i'm only making handmade cards for the special people
2. My savings tin is still going, not as well as i had hoped but i'm redoubling my efforts to put money into it
3. Ebay- I need to get a better idea of what exactly i need to buy, will check for light items and last minute bargains.
4. Meal plans- I am forward planning my meals so mum will save a bit on me.
5. Decluttering- I have sorted the spare room, the bed's down, you can actually get in it and the boxes are nicely stacked behind the wall, i just need to sift through the boxes and ebay or keep if suitable for christmas.
Last year i made three hampers, and one sweetie jar, I only have pics of MIL and OH sweetie jar.
Mil Christmas Hamper
OH Sweetie Jar
Wow they're HUGE!! There was SO much inside the hamper that it was incredible. Only spent £15-£20 on it. Oh sweetie jar was full of all his favourite sweets, he loved it.
I'm off into town tomorrow to see what i can pick up in the charity shops and the £ stores and the cheap ones, also going to see what promos there are at the supermarkets, need to post my ebay items...
God i so can't wait for Christmas to come round, i'm really excited that this one is going to be a good one, especially as we don't have a lot of money, every man and woman is getting something handmade, whether it be a card, facial scrub, food, vodka etc i definitely want to try homemade
Have subscribed to the OS tips thread, i'm writing them as we speak, hope to make my own collection that i can then pass on to my kids and people i know.
I'm really excited, the sales will be on soon, all of us will be prepping for christmas and birthdays, its a really nice feeling of being organised.
Although it is 'fession time, I have not extended my organisational skills to birthdays yet:rotfl:
Off to play catch up with posts etc
Love and hugs
..xx
Thank you for your lovely post, really inspired me. Just two questions please, what's this: "Have subscribed to the OS tips thread..." and this: " 'fession time ".
Mel - would love to see your pics. xxx

Morning everyone
So sorry to hear about your house news Mel, that is so carp of them not to have sussed the door previously. I am sure alterations could be made. Lots of people have to have houses modified for one reason or another. Don't loose faith that you will get sorted out, will just take longer (unfortunately). Sending you a huge virutal hug and a massive bar of choccie x
Hayley, I've just read the book, The Boy in the Striped PJs for the bookclub I'm in (one of the only books I've read cover to cover to be honest). The book is brilliant, very sad but wonderfully written. Haven't seen the film, I would imagine it's a very hard one to watch.
Rusty, how did your OH interview go? Was thinking of you all yesterday x
JS, you are much more organised for Xmas than me, I need to get my bum into gear
Hi Rainmac, sorry I thought I had posted yesterday but can't find it?
He said the job interview went ok, he said that in interviews you can either tell if they are interested or not interested but in this one he said he couldn't tell either way! ... Apparently there are others who need to be interviewed this week but they are looking for someone to start a week on monday so should hear either way by Fri (providing the agent is doing her job properly but I think she is completely useless) so please keep fingers and everything crossed. If he got this job then he would be home every night for 99% of the time which would be fantastic as I am not sure I could cope on my own again if he worked awayRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rusty - Fingers crossed for you right now but it's awfully hard to type:rotfl:0

Hi all, I have ventured out of the nappy cake thread to ask 'can I join you please??'
I have been reading for a while and am really impressed with how organised you all are!!!
I will be starting my christmas shopping this week ready to start making hampers etc etc.
I have always loved christmas and preparing all the gifts but everyone thinks I'm mental, I was so happy when I saw I wasn't the only one with a sandwich short.... Thanks to everybody in the crafting threads who inspired me to start my own business!!0 -

Hello ladies!
Christmas and birthday shopping still done with the exception of my OH's Christmas present, still not wrapped, still not quite neutral.
We met the doctor who'll deliver the Bellyfrog today, and he scanned me to reveal a head-down baby and an upturned set of girl parts. Which is a relief, since we've bought a lot of pink clothing.
And I gave the keys to the letting agent so I'm rid of my old apartment. I already feel less stressed, although I spent yesterday exhausting myself cleaning it and they say it still needs a professional cleaning service. Grr. Oh, and a plumbing horror that I had fixed in August chose today to explode again (literally) all over the agent. Fortunately it was clean water and the kitchen sink.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
Well she shouldn't have said it needed a professional clean SHOULD SHE!! Serves her right
Hope everything goes well Sugarspun and how absolutely adorable.. we have a baby girl ready to be christmassed as a future Thrifty Gifty. Have you thought of any names yet?
