i think i remember someone complaining about rusty's name once?
Yep ... I wasn't impressed :rotfl: I just wish I had their life where the only thing they have to worry about is a fictional name on a bloomin forum :rotfl: how exciting their life must be!!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Just wanted to do a quick update!
I haven't been able to sleep all week.. we have got this new house and everything looked so promising, all the paperwork as done. I have packed loads of my house into boxes.. it is a state and there are boxes everywhere.
Couldn't sleep all night with excitement, 5 years I have waited for this.
I got there, she opened the door and said 'Oh, I didn't realise the door opened like that, there is no way you could get a stair lift there, sorry'. That was it. I didn't even get to go inside the house.
I waited half an hour in her office and trekked to the house for this. I actually started crying and felt like an idiot but I was so deflated. I am back to square one now and have been told it will be practically impossible to get a house that will be suitable or already adapted.
Back to square one but with a house full of cardboard boxes.
Oh no MelThat is horrible!!! Without sounding like I am sticking my beak in could they not move the front door to the other side of the frame so it opened different?
Surely there must be some kind of grant to be able to get help to do modifications to the houses so that you can all lead a better life?
Sending you massive hugs xxxRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
So sorry Mel about your new house - how could they not have known that before!
All I can say is that perhaps it was meant to be and something even better will be just around the corner (thats the way I cope with dissapointment)
Got my fingers crossed for you:A0 -
Anyone living down South, just had email to say the new RANGE shop is opening on Friday May 1st in Chatham Dockside Outlet Centre. Cant wait!!!0

Morning everyone
So sorry to hear about your house news Mel, that is so carp of them not to have sussed the door previously. I am sure alterations could be made. Lots of people have to have houses modified for one reason or another. Don't loose faith that you will get sorted out, will just take longer (unfortunately). Sending you a huge virutal hug and a massive bar of choccie x
Hayley, I've just read the book, The Boy in the Striped PJs for the bookclub I'm in (one of the only books I've read cover to cover to be honest). The book is brilliant, very sad but wonderfully written. Haven't seen the film, I would imagine it's a very hard one to watch.
Rusty, how did your OH interview go? Was thinking of you all yesterday x
JS, you are much more organised for Xmas than me, I need to get my bum into gear:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Just to go back to the 'thanks' topic I've noticed my new laptop doesn't always let me thank you but my 'proper' pc always does! What's that all about?0

Thank you everyone for your support, as usual.
The door opens directly onto the stairs and she said these stairs aren't suitable for any other type of stair lift. No matter which way the door opened (trust me I have been thinking all kinds of crazy things to make it work) it would still bang into it and they won't let anything slide because of fire hazards.
She told me that she had never been in one of these houses before so she had no idea it was like this. I felt a right idiot because I could feel the tears coming and I wanted to get out of there but her and Lee kept chatting. In the end I had to literally walk away without saying anything because the floods had opened!!
I haven't read back on anything so please fill me up to date I don't want to be unsupportive or just carry on chatting if anything bad or amazing has happened!! I'm missing about 6 pages though and I have got to unpack a few things so I best not start reading them.
JS I love your hampers, they are absolutely beautiful. Sorry you lost your post.. I do that ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the time. What I do is quickly copy the text before it goes back LOL:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Marg, I really don't know LOL Sometimes I come on here and I can't thank people!! What I do is just refresh the page and it works again. Is it because when you sign in on one it logs you out on the other?:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0
