Hello everbody
Im sorry I am being very quiet at the mo I have been keeping up to date with all the posts but I just dont have anything interesting to tell you and dont want to bore you all. Oh I do have another tattoo booked in for next tuesday!
Mel - Ignore those rude and ignorant people who are clearly jealous of your talent. If you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all has always worked for me.
I am going to introducce myself aswell. My name is shevs, I am 21 and live in south Manchester, I recently moved back in to my parents home after having to give up the flat me and bf had as I was made redundant just before Christmas. I am not very thrifty but I am gifty and I am ok at crafting not much cop with a sewing machine but not awful. I really enjoy baking, chocolate and sweet making. I like to come on here bacuase I know that if I have a problem, no matter how big or small I know that I will get support and sound advice from you lovely ladies. I like that people can just vent here or share there good news and everybody is here for you.0 -
Hi I'm Skiergirl, Skier or S
I live in South Manchester/Cheshire depending on whether I'm feeling posh or not. I'm 40 in 2 months time and starting to panic about it :rotfl:
I've done ok on the challenge this month but have also joined bingoports (thank you Furry) and littlewoods bingo (for the free scratchcards) in the past couple of days to try and make a little bit more0 -
Words from a wise woman age 40...me by the way, in case you were wondering!
Mel, I actually felt quite repulsed that people actually take the time to write such nastiness and poison. They really need to get a life....says me talking to virtual friends! As you read through the many posts they really don't have anything worthy to say other than a slapping fetish!
We like your work, you like your work and just try to be happy with that .
You have a life , a husband , 2 lovely kids ,possibly a new home (fingers crossed) a sister with health problems who needs you. You are very talented, very generous of your time and words of advice and kindness to all of us on here. What do these vindictive people have? Other than too much time on their hands. They must all have such empty unfulfilled lives. I am a great believer in what goes around comes around!
Anyway, gentle rant over! I need to go and be all housewifely and tidy and clean. Visiting my sister in England at the weekend so need to get all tidied and packed for the trip.
Catch you later Mx0 -

Don't sweat it Mel, Sylphraven put it exactly right, as your work is in the public eye lots of people will have opinions on it, not all of which will be ones that everyone agrees with. Life is too short to worry about the little things and virtual people, just stay happy and worry about the big stuff that matters
You also know you wouldn't have come top each time unless people actually liked your work! Good news about the house. How far away is it from where you are now?
Rainmac - I am so sorry about your MumI am thinking of her all the time, and thinking of you too. If you want to PM me at any time you know you can. Radiotherapy burns are not pleasant, and seem to affect some areas/some people more than others. I think they can put some lotion/cream on them so might be worth asking? (May be getting confused so don't quote me). Pleased that she is doing well, keeping her spirits up will help her massively
My Grandad was convinced they weren't doing anything except an X-ray to him when he had radio. I think he though that because it didn't hurt, it couldn't have possibly been doing anything to help! bless him!! He only had a short course, but I've seen how sore the long courses can be and they are not pleasant so I really do feel for MummyRainmac
Thank you Jammy, mum has been told to use a particular cream which she says she is applying liberally as instructed! I told her to get my dad to help but she gave me a horrified look so maybe that wasn't the right thing to say to my own mum:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I'm bikerchick (or I will be when DS gives me back my bike!) I'm 42 and live in the land of Snod in Kent.
Work full time, work part time and do Avon, so not a lot of free time. But what I do get is spent shopping for bargains, trawling the charity shops and crafting.
Still not been organised to sort out my thrifty gifty notebook, although I did get a lovely one in Paperchase. It's just too nice to write in xMarried 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

Yep I am feeling scared, what if nobody buys anything, what if people tell me my stuff is carp?My table is costing £15 and the fair (or they call it a 'fayre', looks posher written like that I think
) is between 11-4 on a Sunday in August. I had to tell them what I would be selling. I toyed with making up some bath salts and body scrub using epsom salts and fragrances but then looked at some of the legislation and backed away as it all looked very scary. So I've forgotten about that one
I think I can survive 5 hours to see if I can make any money selling the type of things I like to make and can then maybe take it a bit further or back away. I am also hoping to do a couple in the run up to Xmas. Anything that doesn't sell I can sort into pressies for me to give or maybe sold via ebay or a carboot?
Go on, go for it. If we lived closer together we could have done a stall between us or had stalls side by side. I am hoping my OH or my mum and dad will be able to come and help me, if only to pass me tissues when I am sobbing in a corner cos I've sold nothing

If anyone says your stuff is carp then please take their name and address and I will personally pay for them to have their eyes tested! everything I have seen of yours is beautiful, I am not just saying that either!!! I would love to be able to do half of the things you do and make them look half as beautiful as yours ... yet somehow mine don't even come close lol
I hope your mum is ok with her treatment (I am sorry I don't mean to sound ignorant I just struggle with things like this, I never know what to say)
Hope everyone is having a good day
Sorry I haven't got much to tell today, I am completely exhausted and worn out ... I am however cooking OH a nice meal tonight when he gets home ... I even bought his favourite wine(£7.98 a bottle ! ! ! ! ) although it was half price at morrisons but he doesn't need to know that
