Thanks rufus, you advice is great & I'll look into those scratch cards.
Sorry Xmascheer, didnt say before but Welcome to the thread :hello:You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
Hey everyone,
Just checking back in to say Hello and give you a quick update whilst I have a quick sandwich.
Went for my interview yesterday and the lady is very hopeful but apparentely the managers will take over and decide if I can have the house or not. Have a viewing on monday and all the paperwork has been issued so fingers crossed.
Have been getting a lot of traffic on my blog from another blog that was set up for people to have free speech on what they think about other scrapbookers anonymously. When I clicked on there I am getting a total bashing with people saying I have rigged the competition and my work is no good.
It really made me feel so sad, my work is everything I do and it comes from my heart. For them to say I am a cheat made me shake so much. I would never do that, I am just not that sort of person.

Mel, your works very much in the public eye now, & though we all think its fab, you will get a lot of criticism, mainly from jealous people. I think these women are just that, those who are jealous & just enjoy a good b!!ch.
Ignore it, you got off very lightly from that thread having read previous comments, though I know it doent stop then being hurtful, you've had your say so hold your head up high & dont go on that site again. After all, that blog was purely invented for people to put nasty comments on.
Good luck on the whole house front:beer:.You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -

Completely agree with what sylph has said Mel, that blog is foul, what a load of horrible people on there  Your work is beautiful and stunning and from the heart. I bet the people on that blog wouldn't know fantastic work if it slapped them in the face (exactly what I would like to do to them). Don't give them the satisfaction of spending any more time thinking about them. Try and forget them x

Sorry been awol for a day or so
. Can't seem to sort myself out this week, I feel in a mess and not sure why
. Anyway, in reply to jammy's request, my name is rainmac, I live on a fluffy cloud with my lovely OH and my two beautiful boys. DS1 is 5 and in reception year at school and DS2 is 2 and started playschool this week. I love this thread for the warmth and friendliness of everyone who contributes and for the kicks up the bum initiated by Jammy and Mel to get organised with pressies and make some money. I was organised last year but struggling this year so need those regular kicks to get me going in the right direction.
I am getting so into crafty mode that I'm actually going to do a craft fair in August. Had the paperwork through today so I really am doing it now! Not completely sure what I am going to try and sell but will include cards, some little gifts, nappy cakes and other stuff that I'm not sure about yet!
My mum is now half the way through her radiotherapy and she's doing really well. She's very tired and has a boob that is starting to feel severely sunburnt but can see the end to the treatment now so that is motivating her to keep going. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Don't sweat it Mel, Sylphraven put it exactly right, as your work is in the public eye lots of people will have opinions on it, not all of which will be ones that everyone agrees with. Life is too short to worry about the little things and virtual people, just stay happy and worry about the big stuff that matters
You also know you wouldn't have come top each time unless people actually liked your work! Good news about the house. How far away is it from where you are now?
Rainmac - I am so sorry about your MumI am thinking of her all the time, and thinking of you too. If you want to PM me at any time you know you can. Radiotherapy burns are not pleasant, and seem to affect some areas/some people more than others. I think they can put some lotion/cream on them so might be worth asking? (May be getting confused so don't quote me). Pleased that she is doing well, keeping her spirits up will help her massively
My Grandad was convinced they weren't doing anything except an X-ray to him when he had radio. I think he though that because it didn't hurt, it couldn't have possibly been doing anything to help! bless him!! He only had a short course, but I've seen how sore the long courses can be and they are not pleasant so I really do feel for MummyRainmac

I have a grown up son and daughter who have given me 4 Grandchildren, 3 boys and a girl, and I have one 13 yr old daughter. I also have 2 dogs called - you guessed it Rufus and Harvey.
My OH and I have been together for ten years this year and those who know about me working on his birthday presents for this year will know he is 30 this year(not sure if any of you have done the sums yet haha).
I am disabled in my arms and have started to do a lot of knitting as therapy for them hence everyone is getting knitted gifts for Xmas this year. (and birthdays lol).
I love being thrifty and religiously do the daily click sites every morning to make some extra pennies. I love visiting the charity shops too and always looking out for a bargain.
I keep a list of presents that I have bought/made or want to get which I update regularly as it helps me stay organized.
I try to come on here most days and post when I have something I think you would all be interested to know about.
Well thats me folks, its nice to know a bit more about everyone else xx
Thanks for your PM update :T will add it on in my next update
This line made me chuckle, "you are as only as old as the man you feel" I think thats the right quote anywayGood on ya!
