Rusty - sorry to hear you had such a bad time, i have done what you did before loads of times, that is chuck my stuff in the bin if i'm in a mood, usually it is smashed to pieces first so no chance of retrieving it after, then i sit and mope because i have wasted all that time and its only hurting me and no one else. And dont men just know how to upset you by spending money that should be going on something else on something thats not essential as long as its something they want. If its something you want then its a no no.
Furry - sorry to hear about your day too, my boss where I used to work (Primark) was very like that, hated you having time off and made you feel really bad about it. I remember I hadnt had much time off since I worked there just the odd day then I changed jobs and worked in the stock room as supervisor and everything was fine until they decided they didnt need a supervisor anymore then things got really hard for me. I ended up having to unload the big lorries all by myself some days especially in the running up to Christmas when it was busiest. I ended up first hurting my back so had to have a week off there then when I came back I hurt my arms and ended up having time off again. I rang up to tell him and his words were whats wrong with you this time. He didnt believe there was anything wrong. I tell you my life was hell after that as my med certs I sent in went "missing" and I had to fight to get any money, and then after my sick pay run out I couldnt get incapacity ben or job seekers as I hadnt paid enough stamps. I couldnt go back to work there as my arms were too bad so ended up handing in my notice. I am now disabled in both arms thanks to that awful job but couldnt do anything about it like make a claim, I did try but was told that as the injuries started out as RSI's I couldnt claim. Some people arent fit to be bosses are they. Anyway thats my rant for the day lol, getting in on the band wagon haha.
Everyone else - hope you are all having a better day today, I went into Chatham yesterday and thanks to who ever it was who told me about the Boots Naturel make up I managed to get my daughter a nice bagful of bits from there so very pleased with that. Also got a couple of nice t shirts for my son for his birthday in May, all of it out of money recieved from daily click sites.
Had another £5 amazon voucher, this time from cashback kings, started doing the daily clicks on there last year but they have stopped them so though I would draw the cash out as a when it becomes available as vouchers. Should have another one today from Bingo ports too as they pay out on Thursdays. Had a few wins this week so next one is building nicely too. Not sure whether to chance buying any more dvds just yet as OH seems to be ordering himself a lot at the mo and I dont want him buying one I already have.
Anyway sorry for the long post, off out to see my Dad in a bit so have a nice day everyone xx0 -
rusty - can you not craft on the sly so you're still teaching him a lesson.
It is soooo important when times are tough to have a creative outlet - it can keep you sane.
Husband has two days holiday as it was his birthday yesterday! so he is at home til monday!!! I think he'll drive me mad by then.0 -
Morning ladies
Hope everyone is ok today.
I am feeling slightly calmer, I took the grump with OH last night and ignored him and went to bed on my own, I have no idea what time he came to bed nor do I care cause I woke him up at 8am cause my little one fell down the stairs(only 4 steps but it shocked her) oh and if anyone thinks what a bad mum she has been climbing the stairs and coming down them since she was 13 months old :rotfl: so you are probably right
My cards and journals have been rescued out of the bin, somehow they made it from the bin outside to the utility room worktop magically! I guess that means he is sorry :rotfl:
When is the next big meet? :rotfl: I WILL come to that one lol
Padingtondoo - I still have my fingers crossed for your OH's interview
Shelley aint men swines!! ... Mine probably won't even think to let the children make pictures for me for mothers day or give them some small pennies to buy something with. (ooh actually I must remember we can't afford it ... although can afford new Xbox's! :rotfl:)
Hope everyone has a good dayRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Oh dear, I seem to have passed on bad karma to everyone... :rotfl: sorry to hear so many of you are having problems and feeling grumpy and sad too.
Shelley - Hope you have heard from the vets now and your dog is OK.
Furrypig - your boss sounds dreadful, it's horrible when someone makes you feel bad when you have done nothing wrong, hope the littlies are feeling better.
Rusty - if my OH tried to pull the "we don't have any money" card and then went and spent £200 on a bl***dy toy, I would be furious. They can be soooo insensitive sometimes.
Sorry I haven't responded to everyone's posts, but have a Great Day today and tomorrow for all those of you going to the NEC.0 -
Morning everyone
Just caught up with all of yesterdays posts, and remembered why I've been single for the last year!
Won't have much time for anything crafty for a couple of weeks as my part time assistant is now on holiday for two and a half weeks, so I've got to cover all the extra hours. But I've got a week off at the end of the month so plan to do loads then. Have to make curtains first, then whatever takes my fancy.
Spent two hours in the loft last weekend having a good old sort out ready for Boot Fair on Mothers Day. Most of my craft stuff is still boxed up after the non-move last year, so am going to get up there on Saturday and sort it all out and transfer it back into the plastic chest of drawers ready to be admired (I mean used!)
Hope the NEC girls have a great day tomorrow. Anyone going to Olympia next weekend?Married 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

Oh Rusty, how is you not crafting going to punish your OH, its unlikely it'll make him feel guilty, especially when he's playing on his new resident evil 360 (I gave OH the bill book & let him work out we cant afford it until later in the year). You enjoy your crafting & keep your fingers crossed that he gets the flashing lights of doom on the 360. I'm glad he got your creations out the bin
Hayley, Hobbycrafts is at the NEC every March & November
I need to write a list of what I need to do for tomorrow & what I need to take, so far off the top of my head I have.

It would make him feel guitly cause he knows I try to handmake every card for family and friends, I try to make nice things for the children to play with etc etc. Anyway my strike is over, he got my bits out of the bin and I now have my lovely boquet embellishments back :rotfl:
Here is a sneaky peek. I have put the full cards on the card thread as I don't want to bore you with them on here but I am proud of my flowers so toughRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
is it a stamp padster?
the architect comment was v random!!
what I want to know is who is going to treat the lot of us who aren't going to the NEC to some lovely stuff? I think it should be like a Thrifty Gifty girls shoebox appeal - "we can't make it, so you lucky ones send us some stuff":rotfl:
Loving all the blogs girls! they all look brill by the way!!:T:T:T
We could do a Thrify Gifty swap shop, fill a bag with stuff you're not using and send it to someone from the thread? In return you get a bag of stuff some someone else. Just an idea:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
just caught up with the thread - thoughts and best wishes to everyone who has someone ill, is ill, had a bad time at home/work or just a bad day - hope things are better now.
Wishing all those who are meeting up at the NEC a lovely time (don't spend too much!!!)0 -
Rusty - you should be really proud of those bouquets and everything else you made cos they are all fab and such great presents to keep forever (and very MSE as well). What do OH's know? NOTHING is the answer!!!
If my OH said he was buying/had ordered an XBox or whatever I'd go ballistic. Will you be able to stop yourself throwing the blinking thing across the room? Not sure I could? I'd teach my little one to jam food in it or something. I can be quite awful I knowIf you can get to the NEC tomorrow I'll buy your ticket and you can share whatever food I take. You deserve it missus! Tell OH he is in charge for the day, may do him some good and appreicate you more for everything you do.
I sent you some Quickutz shapes that I squeezed, hope they arrive safely and if you want any more of the same you know where to come (I've got loads of bits of card - perfect for squeezing).
Huge Hugs to everyone, think most of us need one :grouphug::wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
