The glowing review did sound a bit fake. Wren are owned by Ebuyer, not Vance Miller however, though it is hard to keep track of his many kitchen companies.

I am a genuine member on here and customer of Wren i was merely giving my experience of dealing with them. I too had read the very negative things but decided to do my own investigation as to which company was best for me. Wren was best on price and quality i am very happy with my kitchen, sales staff and delivery men. I appreciate not everyone will feel the same but as i have a Wren kitchen delivered on time with no problems just wanted to let other forum members know that i found them more than o.k.
• Re my prev post
Am a totally genuine customer & a frequent browser of this excellent
website. (no, i'm not employed by Martin Lewis either !!)

I was not aware that it's compulsory to make multiple posts in order to make a point which might help other members -
I hope my comments might help others to reach a decision with what is a pretty major purchase

Its entirely possible that a few people have had problems in the past (maybe due to demand ??) and likely Wren listened to its customers & did something about it....

Also, unhappy customers are more likely to go online & complain than the majority who are satisfied

My only regret is that it would have been nice if this website could have benefited financially in some way by giving Wren a lead.
I'd not have discovered them by any other means.

BTW, a note of reassurance to anyone worried about ANY company going under, if you buy with your credit card for goods over £100 you are ok -

• Wren kitchens have lots to do if the truly want to challenge the likes of Howdens, I am trade customer and have had 2 kitchens from them.

1st kitchen had 2 damage carcasses i was some what annoyed as I was told that the units were checked about 18 times and couldnt be sent out in this condition. I spoke with my customer and she was happy for me to replace the damaged sections as she had a young family and time was the critical point. Sent photos and had a polite reply saying this was very rare and apologies, however no little sweetner was forth coming ( howdens would have offered something for the hassle).

2nd kitchen was ordered over the phone and delivered to site, problems started from the off as there was no plinths or cornices delivered, 2 large custom fit panels were missing they sent wall end panels instead had wrong doors for D/W and W/M, a damaged door and 2 cabinets not properly built up. My customer was far from happy and i was proper mad:mad:I was straight on the phone to arrange getting things sorted, once again many apologies and promises to sort it all out. new materials were delivered and would you believe they sent out wrong size doors. I was also charged extra for the plinths and cornice as they say they were never included in my quote, after 4 days and 3 trips to the wren factory at howden i managed to get all the right parts. I had to pay sparkies and tiler to work the weekend to complete the job on time and lost a grand in total.

Have one back to Howdens and will be sticking with them even though they are slightly more expensive, there service is amazing and would never let me down like this
• "seriously just stop, go back to wren your making yourself look stupid now"

That made me smile, it would be a pretty long commute to Doncaster from the Isle of Wight !

No problems or damage during delivery - my kitchen was delivered to a 3rd party carrier first (as they don't deliver direct to Islands) so not only were they keeping me informed about the timetable but also the carrier

I put my order together online using the kitchen planner then called & someone double checked it all with me.

Was all very easy in my particular case :))
• first things first yes this is my first post. no I do not work for wren. but i do however deliver them.

I recently helped replace my father in-laws kitchen (and no it was not a wren kitchen) with a flat pack one did not do a bad job looks ok he is happy with it. started working for a haulage company delivering wren kitchens. and was very surprised with the quality. mainly the thickness of material and how solid it is. the back panel to the units must be 1/4 inch thick rather than the standard 1/8inch in flat pack the sides of the units are about 1/2 inch. so there is no doubting the quality.

as for damaged units! the world is not perfect. units can be damaged during loading, in transit or on delivery. the boxes on the back of the lorry are not loaded by the driver and as for placing the units in the customers house, these units are heavy and some of the time delivered through the back door which means carrying them down the side of a house and climbing over the remains of the old kitchen in the back garden. yes we do manage to drop them on the odd occasion.

as for price I don't believe anyone can say they do the cheapest kitchen. in fact who wants a cheap kitchen. as my gran says you get what you pay for. but in the overall picture wren is good quality at a good price (take in to consideration if you buy flat pack your fitter is going to cost more as he will spend 3 days building the flat pack)

this thread was started quite a while ago and things have improved there are many showrooms now open so you can see for your self.

and finally i still don't work for wren but if no one buys the I wont be delivering them.
• Hi, I have ordered my kitchen from wrens yesterday, I have spent nearly 2 months looking for the best deal, and I have a stack of books and quotes from all the main players.

Just as an example I was looking for around 16 units plus an integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer dryer and a new double oven to go in a larder unit.

B&Q £3600 not the best quality it range
Wicks £ 4800 looked good quality
Home Base £4500 looked good quality
Howden’s £3800 good quality
Wrens £4100 first quote for the high gloss black range

All above quotes were without double oven and washer dryer.

I found what was bumping up the price was end panels, These are where you get a cupboard with white sides and have to fit a panel to make it match the colour of the rest of the kitchen. I then purposely looked for a kitchen range that didn't need end panels that made it a lot cheaper.

Another thing that bumps up the price is buying the appliances from the kitchen suppliers themselves. They only seem to sell the high end ranges and are more expensive than getting them elsewhere.

Basically I ended up ordering the units only from wrens and the appliances online from kitchen science.
I was quoted £2544 from wrens and went back the next day to see if they could knock any off, the manager then came back with a new quote for £2400 so I ordered there and then.

I went online and spent a day looking for the cheapest appliances I went for the indesit range. Some people say they are crap but I have used then before and haven’t had many problems and I am good with my hands so if they go wrong after the warranty runs out I will have a go at fixing myself. The best website I found was kitchenscience.co.uk if you are buying multiple appliances it has an option to ask for a discount.

I was quoted £1208 before hand and after they discounted it was £1145

Long story short,
I got my kitchen for £3544 a lot less than other earlier quotes and that is with the washer dryer and double oven on top
Go for a range that doesn’t need end panels
Buy the appliances elsewhere
Never take the first offer
Shop around

All prices above are for myself to fit.

One good thing about wrens is on their website you can plan your kitchen without having to download anything, it gives you a price at the end and you don’t have to put up with a sales man until you want them. It is a bit hard to find the little things on the planner like fillers and kick boards but the guy in store will put the finishing touches.

I will post again when my kitchen turns up and let you know how I got on.

Hope this helps sorry for the long read,

James
• Hi, I have been a salesman for over 20 years now and consider myself to be one of the honest helpful ones. I just want to say that I am so sick and tired of unreasonable customers, who make stupid demands from us, especially your tradesmen, who get the best deals and then don't pass the benefits onto you, the customer (I see this daily, you get a quote and then he will come and buy the product at his discount and put ££££££££'s onto what he quoted you..DOUBLE CHECK WITH YOUR SUPPLIER ).....you'r fitters are often uqualified to do a job but have an "i,ll have a go" attitude and then when things go wrong because the unqualified fitter mes's up, the fitter will slate the supplier and say " so and so's product is much better" only because he gets to rob you, the customer, by aiming them at the store he, THE FITTER, gets the best discount from. Then when you'r fitter damages or loses something he will say to you... "the supplier messed up Go and "steal" from them because I dont want to have to pay". I have worked in many retail outlets, and to be honest, it's YOU the customer who make your own lives miserable by trying to get the "best deal" all of the time. Well... NEWSFLASH... if you want a Bugatti Veyron pay for a Bugatti Veyron, don't buy a replica for 1/100th of the price and then moan because it doesn't do what you expected a Bugatti to do. :A

I recently purchased a kitchen from wren kitchens.
The first problems arose when the fitter came out to measure and the sales person had put in the incorrect cupboards. We contacted her and THOUGHT it had been rectified. How wrong were we?
After waiting 6 weeks the kitchen was finally delivered and we were told 3 day maximum for kitchen to be fitted. 3 and 1/2 weeks later I still do not have my kitchen fitted.
What went wrong well let me list the issues Ive had below
1) Wrong cupboard sizes delivered, contacted store advised new computer system and warehouse picked up wrong order.
2) 3 cupboard doors missing
3) No handles delivered for doors
4) A chipped door
5) No kitchen sink
6) No kitchen tap
7) Contact the store again to be advised have to contact the warehouse by email and could take 72 hours to be answered
8) 3 weeks later still waiting on handles and doors
9) Contacted store manager and called a liar
10) Contact regional manager looking for compensation due to continued issues.
11) Lied to again as no contact from Regional manager
12) Now contacted Armando Sanchez lets see if he answers.
13) Plumber arrives to finally fit sink today and parts missing from sink
14) Still awaiting splashback and cooker hood to be fitted

Wren NO MONEY will be paid until my kitchen is sorted. I have re called my deposit from VISA.

Armando Sanchez contact me and get this fixed since you are CEO. I expect some form of compensation as been without a kitchen sink for 3 weeks. Not been able to use my kitchen so had to eat out with a family of 6. I am extremly skint now and annoyed due to the disgusting unprofessional service I have had
