My OH's computer, bought especially for games Pentium 4, 3.0 ghz, 6600 nvidia graphics card! keeps crashing on him. Our local computer expert has not been able to fix it, has replaced various components, updated drivers, added memory, ran various diagnostic tests etc.,
During playing a game, It goes to a blue screen with error message and then restarts and we end up with this error message:-
BCCode : 100000d1 BCP1 00000000 BCP2 00000002 BCP3 00000000 BCP4 F6871BD2 OSver 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Prodct 256_1
I've searched various websites via google and Microsoft, but seem to be going around in circles to find the answer. He doesn't use the pc for surfing the net, so its unlikely to be a virus.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Sarah

on the error message there should be a bit where you can "click here for the technical data" please click on that and post the contents. It might give us more to go on.

i concur with phil999 the error message doesn't give us much to go on. However, generally with games problems you need to check you are using the latest versions of drivers particularly for display, direct x etc. also google on your error messages and the game you are trying to run, that will often give you an idea what the problem is.To err is computing but to really screw things up you need a human ...0

How long has it been crashing?
System restore is always a good place to start......:)0 -
Have you checked the memory with Memtest86?
To prevent the computer restarting so you can read the BSOD error message, right-click My Computer and choose Properties, then Advanced tab. Click Settings in Startup and Recovery and untick Automatically restart under System failure.0 -

The computer isn't connected to the internet. Can I download it onto a disc and run it from there?0 -
