Good evening everyone,
moggins - dont worry about other peoples silly posts, they obviously didnt read your original post, or they wouldve seen how you were comparing the prices of the bags of spuds, and doing some housework - i def think we have some old style there and considering the years (i know you had a bit of a break) you have been on this thread, im sure no one minds you sharing your problems, thats what we are here for!!!!
:hello: Taplady
Hester - thaks for your words yesterday, it is a worry with DS, i hope you are right and he realises one day that he has to think of his future!!!
Well, we have had a really lazy day today - a lot of sitting around watching DVDs and eating chocolate!!! Its been lovely!
Saying that, i did make a lovely roast dinner (pork, and the crackling was perfect!) and cleaned the bathroom - i shouldve hoovered through, but we decided to watch dancing on ice in my bed instead, (we are missing Todd already!) so i supose thats money saving, dont need the heating on as the 3 of us are in bed!!!
Well, thats about it for today, work again tomorrow and DS is off with his dad - DD doesnt want to go so we will see what happens.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Evening all!
I've had a smashing weekend away. A few weeks ago OH was having a right old moan about not doing anything much and I felt sorry for him, so, after a bit of online research, I booked us into a farm B&B near Chester. We travelled up on Friday, stayed two nights and got home this evening. We spent yesterday at Chester Zoo and today travelled into Wales and had a few hours in Llandudno!
Now it's back to reality in a big way... On Thursday afternoon I was given a month's notice from my job. In truth, I have mixed feelings as I wasn't particularly happy there and I'd already done a bit of half-hearted job hunting. It's a worry though, financially. I have to get my CV sorted tomorrow and I've contacted a Nanny agency fairly local to me. I think I'll also get some cards in shop windows in the more affluent local villages round here. Think positive thoughts for me please.Avoiding plastic, palm oil, UPF and Nestlé0 -
Gracious! Did those of you who are complaining about my earlier post actually read it?
I merely stated that this is not JUST a "lean on me thread". I am a sporadic poster but I would hate others to be put off because they thought that this was only a support thread and not remotely to do with Old Style. I understand the role that support of others makes and when I post I always say I am thinking and praying for those in need but as the sticky says, the posts should have some OS content.
Anyway, I meant no malice and I am sorry but I do think there has been an over reaction here. In no way was I telling people not to talk about their lives. I would never do that.
I am truly sorry for your troubles Moggins and wish you all the best.Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -

No :mad:not again please. "Last time" there was an awful lot of hurt caused and a lot of very very upset posters. People that haven't posted again and People that may, just may have more difficult lives because they don't.

Blairweech wrote: »Katholicos - Where do you put the 4oz sugar in the tarts? Does it go in with the flour?
I am such a silly billy, i totally forgot to include what to do with the sugar. I added the sugar to the breadcrumb mixture (after rubbing the flour, salt and marge together) rather than putting it in with the flour and then rubbing the marge in.
Thanks for pointing that out Blairweech, i've just amended the recipe i posted on here.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I suspect that once people have had the chance to calm down PTT they will realise that they have taken what you said the wrong way. Someone else (Peyton?) said earlier that your comment was softened by the smilie, but Moggins in particular has a hell of a lot going on in her life right now and probably is feeling a little raw - not surprisingly I'd say. I'm sure your apology will be accepted in the genuine spirit in which it has been offered.
