Hello
Overcast this morning, not sure what to do. OH is out (Good) DD has been out since Fri at her friends and DS is conected to the wii. WM is on. Ironing to do but I hate it. Downstairs is good as friend came over but upstairs is a state. I thought I would eventually grow up and be able to cope with running a home but it has never happened. DD seems to be taking after me as well. My dad always said I was missing the "womans" gene. Time has proved him right. I fear for DD.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Hugs to Moggins. You know yourself what you need and what you want. You can vent on here all you like, it's safe and you can have fun seeing what will get through the swear filters. We are all here for you.
Donnygal - little bear understands 'no' and usually stops although at two he is checking the boundaries. I can be quite ruthless with him, like when I had to part him from the poster paint on Friday. He was not a happy little bear and went very red in the face. I do understand what you mean, though, and I really don't put 100% reliance on him heeding 'no' if necessary. When we go out he is on reins as he is so adventurous. The big problem at the moment is his mischief when I am not looking. This morning I was out of the room making him toast, and came back to find he had found a whole box of jaffa cakes... He had tried half of them - that is, half of every single one. They had all been at least licked. He got a telling off (a bit luke warm, it was partly my fault for leaving it there), but I have no doubt there will be something else next time.
I am waiting for dear heart to come back from the vets with evil cat. I just want her checked over as she isn't really eating and she isn't really happy. She doesn't seem particularly in discomfort, just not happy.
Little bear had his usual late night bottle last night and barely had half of it, so I put him to bed and he went (unusually) straight to sleep. This morning he was singing and then started grumbling - the bottle had leaked a little. Hardly any seemed to have gone but the sheet was soaking. So the only old style thing that has happened is that I've changed his bed. He is up there now, he was very happy to have a nap and I think he is gently winding down.

Morning everyone. It is nice in quiet in the house. OH has taken all the boys to rugby training. I have been very productive. I have a load of washingon, put ham in the SC and washed the kitchen floor. I am having a cup of tea before I sort out the ironing.
I am looking forward to half-term. I have lot's of things to keep me busy.

I am taking a break from my cooking day - I have been up since 8.30.
So far I have done - a large pan of potatoes on for mashing - once mashed I willl be making cheese and onion pie, potato pancakes and pie toppings (and mash of course)
I went through the fridge and found lots of veg that was on the turn so I have roasted it all and I will make 2 veggie lasagnes (one for me and one for my sister - she asked if I would make her a food parcel as she cant cook). Mine will go in the freezer for dinners next week.
Left over red sauce will be frozen as pasta sauce.
The white sauce I am making for my lasagne will also go on OH spicy lasagne and also onto a cauli, broc and leek cheese (both cauli and broc were reduced in the supermarket and both look a little sad.
Depending how the cauli, broc and leeks fair I might use the rest to make a soup.
Speaking of OH spicy lasagne, I bulked it out by blitzing all the ends of loaves I have used this week into breadcrumbs (neither of us are fussed for crusts and I normally bin them so using them in something else is a real revelation.
Then I will make all my sandwiches for lunches this week.
I am hoping the OH will then see all the mess I have made in the kitchen and decide that he should do the dishes (this is unlikely as it is an Old Firm match this after noon - Rangers v Celtic for those not in Scotland - I am think he will spend the afternoon in front of the telly).
Then I will collapse in a heap and thank god that I dont have to cook until next sunday.0 -
Just caught up with the last of yesterday's thread - Moggins - what a day! I'm new to this thread having only been on here a few weeks, but I'm always amazed by the support and genuine warmth on here. I really hope everybody gets better, and I guess with the OH situation you just have to trust your heart and instincts. :grouphug:2019 Aim: Save £10,000

morning!
day off again today:j
plans for today are to make some Tuscan bean soup(somerfield mag) and do the ironing. Later when the teenagers are up:rolleyes: we need to take down DS2s high sleeper and put up his pine bed - he's been sleeping on the floor on a sofa chair for a bit coz he's decided he doesn't like the high bed any more. Upstairs is quite small so lots of difficult shuffling round of furniture needed also DS1 is trying to persuade DS2 to change bedrooms too!
Have still got my cold but its not too bad but I woke up with a cold sore which I hate  I always have huge ones when I get them which take about 2 weeks to go:mad:
(((hugs))) to all who need them
Kathlicos - your baking looks yummy!
have a lovely Sunday all
take care xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good morning all.
Nice quiet start to a sunday here - OH is reading the paper and I'm browsing on here.....I have decanted the pasta sauce that I made yesterday from the crock-pot of the new SC into its plastic boxes for freezing though. It made 6 portions for two of us plus a portion for one - not bad from a £2.87 pack of mince! The new SC is excellent - it was miles easier doing my bolognese sauce in that yesterday evening than in a pan and having to keep going out and stirring it through its long simmering time. I've also typed the letter to go off with the balance payment for our holiday cottage for our upcoming trip to the Hebrides - not too long until we go now - I'll need to start working through my usual pre-planning lists to see what needs to be done. I'm going to start posting some of last years pics up on my blog as well - I usually do one a week in the run up to the trip!
We'll have cheeses and biscuits etc for lunch today then I'll get the large hand of pork I bought yesterday into the oven and we'll go out for a walk this afternoon once the temeperature has been turned down on that. I think we'll head to our RSPB reserve again - but this week I'll take my camera in case the sparrowhawk, yellow wagtail or Barn Owl show their faces again!
Right, off to take a nervous peek at Flylady to see what I've missed this week!Have a lovely peaceful day all of you.

Having a quiet day ironing and washing the bedding, cleaning the bathroom, maybe the bedrooms and definately some more homework.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone (((((hugs)))))
Thanks, Stressedout - I shall be trying that this week!

Just to let you all know...
Evil cat has returned from the vets. She got to see the 'young vet' who was the young vet nearly forty years ago when dear heart went there with his first pet when he was a little boy. The 'young vet' takes no nonsense, but is incredibly gentle and gives her lots of cuddles.
Well, the prescription diet is doing the job. Evil cat has put on a small amount of weight, which is amazing as she spends so many calories being annoying. Also the vet actually took a sample of her urine by sticking a needle in her  (evil cat only takes it) and it is much better - not giving details, but it is not as bad as it was.
So, in a few months time we take her back, or sooner if she seems poorly, but she is doing well.
Also, we have just filled the boot of dear heart's car with discarded books. They will be donated to whichever charity shop is not quick enough to reject them. There will be at least the same again at some point.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
