Morning all!:j
DD is on a sleepover, so I have the luxury of still being in bed with coffee and my two gorgeous spaniels.
I really enjoy reading all your posts but I have to put aside a couple of hours - I get easily distracted and hop from thread to thread! :rotfl: Have just been reading some of the recipes on the grocery challenge thread, then got lost on the 'challenge jamie meal for a fiver'. Have now found my way back here and it's gone 9 o'clock! I really must get up soon and get the wm on, not to mention the bm and the sc - pork and butter bean casserole (yes, the beans have been soaking overnight, very OS!:T ).
Lunch will be jackets with cheese probably. Haven't got to pick up dd until 2 p.m. so will walk the springies over the fields.
Hugs to all who need them, especially moggins...

Well yesterday was sooo not an OS day, lots of spending.... took girls to ballet, then went down town to library (ok thats sort of OS) then went round the shops, bought YO new shoes and OH new shoes (annoying, he bought his shoes first downstairs in Clarks then went upstairs to kids bit and they gave us a 20% discount voucher for adults shoes! After he'd paid downstairs in seperate transaction. Bloody typical! I know one of the girls serving and she suggested refunding and doing transaction again but the girl serving CHOSE to ignore her. Never mind, just bloody typical of me I always miss out...) then we had lunch downtown, then I went to hairdressers. So a very expensive day, I did go to the fabric shop and bought some lovely material for a skirt for me for spring (if it ever comes) and some absolutly beautiful material that the girls spotted and they both want a skirt out of it. (If I can work out how to do it I might post a picture when I get them done...), £36 for a skirt for me and one each for 3yo and 6 yo. Downtown yesterday I noticed a few more shops that had closed down. One a luggage shop has been there for donkeys and now its gone.... its very sad.
In the evening then we booked a trip to Disneyland Paris for Easter!!!!!!:j So excited, we're not gonna tell the kids yet, got 6 weeks to go can't stand the excitment for that long. In fact OH doesn't want to tell them, just chuck them in the car and see their faces when we get there! Dunno if I can stand a day of where we going, are we there yet, where we going!!!!! Actually taking ED out of school 2 days early for Easter to do it as its about half the cost, got it approved by teachers as her attendance is 100% (even got her to school in the snow lol!) and she does very very well in school. Can't believe the difference in cost over the school hols!
We had a nice VD meal but again not OS went to M&S and got a ready meal from there, Beef Bourginon with Dauphonoise Potatoes with Cabbage Medley and I did honey glazed carrots. Then we had strawberries, bananas & marshmallows with chocolate fondue (terrys choc orange left over from xmas:D!) washed down with M&C champagne which was given to us but really didn't agree with me, suddenly had a bad head and felt a bit nausous and felt asleep on settee about 10.30 so not such a successful end to VD IYKWIM;) . Didn't even get drunk just went straight to bad head, need to sleep stage, maybe it was a dodgy bottle or something as I can usually drink shampoo for Britain!!! Not that I get much practise these days.......
Today I'm going to make up for the non OS over the last few days, gonna try and start these skirts, make some bread, clean ED bedroom and all homecooked food today. Boiled gammon for tea, mashed pots & veg, left over meat will make pasta carbonara tomorrow. So its 9.30 now so I better get going.... will report back. Hope everyone else had had more OS days than me this week and have a good day.0 -
Morning all
I am absolutely hanging this morning. Got to bed at midnight last night and the alarm went off at 7am. Drove OH to work and came back to load the dishwasher and clean the kitchen. This afternoon I have to pick mum up and drive her to the hospital so she can visit dad. Trouble is visiting times are about the same time as I am supposed to be picking OH up and even I can't manage being in two places at the same time. They've also closed the road I use to take OH to work. It's closed all week for resurfacing and the route I had to use this morning was bad enough on a Sunday morning, lord knows what it's going to be like having to do that later in the week!
We're off to the cash and carry tomorrow, OH said they had 25kg sacks of spuds on sale for £2.99. I shall be comparing prices carefully to make sure I don't pay over the odds for anything
Thanks for all your kind words and support, sometimes being one of those cantankerous beggars who tends to dig her heels in when she feels she is being manipulated can be difficult
Dad wants to get out of hospital as he thinks the ward he is on is for people who've gone there to die, looking around when I visited him yesterday I almost had to agree, most of the poor old devils in there looked on their last legs! Trouble is he can't come home as he can't walk and there is no one at home who can look after him.0 -
Morning all.................((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) of you need one.
A bad night could not sleep oh restless so got up and brought my book through and sat reading till 3.30am then went back to bed. I am crackered before I start this morning.
OH has just wandered through.......and gone off for his shower....wish I could go back to bed and sleep but I must go to the allotment and empty the kitchen waste into the composter and bring some brussels back.
Roast pork chops for supper tonight............
Today is not going to be an easy day, we should have been setting off to stay at Birmingham airport prior to our flight to Florida tomorrow morning......I am so desperate for a rest and some sun...............trying not to think about it, but its hard, especially as we are really no further forward woth OH's condition. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all. Heading off to Church shortly so will have to read trhough the thread and give thanks later. Just wanted to let you know what i've been up to.
Yesterday I heard that 24 Charmin loo rolls were being sold in Lidl for £6.49 so my daughter and i went along and got 4 packs. 96 loo rolls in total...should keep my family going for a while, and i am still going to squash each roll to make it last a bit longer
When i got home i did some laundry and then i started baking. I made 2 sorts of valentines day biscuits. One were made with Jam, so they became Jam Tart Hearts and the others were made with mincmeat, like puffed mince pies. They were scrummy!
Here are the pictures (is it okay to post pictures in here?)
and i made a whole plateful that looked like this:

Today i'm going to Church then we're going to Mum's for lunch and i'm providing the pudding of mincemeat tart (i made one while i was baking). The TD is on at the mo and i may do some more washing when i get home, but not much OS going on today. But then Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest. LOL!
Have a great Sunday everyone! I'll catch up with you all laterGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Morning all,
Bit of a nothing day weather wise, its not sunny, and its not raining, just dull and overcast, getting a bit fed up with it now tbh, come on spring hurry up.
Roast lamb today with roasties, and veg :T , will do it at lunch time, think I will also make some houmous, thanks Vicky A, it looks lovely, so will have some for tea.
I think we are going to get out for a bike ride today, we have some local woods where there is a tarmac path through, don't think we could cope with the mud on bikes  , but it gets us out for some fresh air and little dog loves it.
Other than that will get a sunday paper and veg out i think, OH is cooking bagels with bacon and cheese for breakfast :T .
I have OH filthy work coat in the wm, and will get the beds changed today, ready to wash tomorrow.
Moggins, I hope you are ok, dont put up with any c**p from your OH, it takes two to kiss, and you really have to think to yourself is he really worth hanging onto and fighting for,(hope you dont take that the wrong way, but sometimes its clearer to see it from the outside) hope your dad is ok xx
Sunnygirl, Awww what a lovely woman you are, thank you for giving that young man a chance xx
Smoky, hope you continue to feel better xx
Well better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Hello everyone,
I'm so tired tonight.Being in aircon for 2 weeks has taken it's toll on me today. It's been so hot. Got all the washing dry and ironed. DD left around 3pm and I whipper snipped the yard while DH mowed. XDIL & DGS came up briefly so he could go for a swim. How I miss having all my meals cooked.
Us running to the dining room like pigs to the trough.
I've got to sort out my shopping list & menu tomorrow and hopefully do some more yard work early before the heat sets in. DS2 is arriving late afternoon.
katholicos They look really yummy and you did a fantastic job.
Hope everyone has a great day & hugs to those that need them. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

They are gorgeous, any chance of the recipe? Although of course if I make them they won't look so beautiful, they will be wonky and the jam will have boiled over the top and run all down the side:D Still I will try......0 -
Aren't you all busy bees?
I had another hour after dh went walking with his buddies. I seem to be sleeping well at the moment, have to say, even when I'm not sleeping well I don't worry about it, but it does feel nice all the same.
Lunch will be... not sure. Not much probably, as we're eating at MIL tonight after dh is back from walking.
I have been to Mr M. Someone challenged me to just buy bananas, LOL! I didn't get that much more....some whoopsied fruit and veg, milk and a box of cereal. Made a mistake of sorts, got a bag of avocadoes for 39p, and coriander to go along with the dying toms in the fridge for guacomole. But dh isn't here for lunch and we're out later. ON inspection, 4 of the avoc are quite hard and will survive in the fridge.
I have someone coming for manicure in a bit, then going out to collect the tailor's dummy that I 'won' on Ebay last night. Wonder what I should call her, everyone has a name for there dummy!
The rest of the afternoon will be mine!
Have a good day everyone."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Morning all!
Had a lovely evening last night - aside from England losing to Wales *sniff* Watched the rugby with the uni team, then headed to my best friend's house and 6 of us had nachos and tortillas and amused ourselves for hours with Youtube! Lots of fun! Only problem is we're all skint and so we were drinking Mr S' Basic table wine - I've brushed my teeth twice, eaten breakfast and chewed gum and I can still taste it!
At w*rk today until 5.00, then rehearsals 5.30-9.00 so nothing OS today, may have to do some baking or soup making tomorrow.
Bunny200 - that's how most of my baking attempts end up! but my housemates hoover up anything - if it tastes good, that's the main thing!2019 Aim: Save £10,000
