We have clean pj's every couple of days. dd is still in night time nappies but when that stops she won't sleep in knickers if I can avoid it as I never have.

We have our own towels and don't share and they are washed a couple of times a week.

Bedding is washed weekly in the summer but not so often in the winter months.

I don't iron... my mum bless her comes round and does it for me while I'm at work. I'm very lucky and spoilt in that respect!

We all have our own bath towels and me DD & DS2 have our own hair towels too, DS1 & OH have shorter hair. Bath towels are always hung to dry after use and are changed every 2-3 days. My OH has 2 bath towels too, why I don't know!

Please, we're all different, no need to feel a minger, slob or hobo just because you have different priorities. I'm sure we're all perfectly clean, sweet smelling people. :D

this thread is so interesting!!this is one of those things ive always wondered about what other people do, but never discussed it with my friends! :D

    me:

bedclothes: changed once a week on sundays

duvet & pillows: never washed!! eek!! but i do tend to chuck them every couple of years and buy new ones as i love a duvet to be really fluffy and spongy!!

underwear: bra, knickers and socks changed daily, and i dont handwash bras

clothes: tops changed daily, trousers worn a couple of times. i used to change trousers daily during a really hot summer a few years ago, and stayed in the habit, but about six months ago started wearing them for two days as my washing was horrendous!!

pyjamas: changed about twice a week, though if i have a shower or bath a night i like to put clean ones on

towels: one for my hair, one for after shower, and they are changed once a week. they get hung on a towel rail in the spare room that is beside the radiator so they dry quickly. OH has his own towel, i would never share with him, and there is a towel for drying hands after going to the loo

ironing: i only iron my work trousers and jeans, if they are particularily crumpled. i try not to wear shirts as they are a pain to iron, but i will iron them. everything else gets hung carefully on the clothes airer and put straight away!!

and i wear knickers (and a bra) in bed!! i would feel a bit icky wearing jammies for more than one night if i didnt.

    xx

Oh god, Im gonna sound like a minger again :rotfl: (as I did on the bathing thread) I dont wear clean PJs every night and I didnt as a kid! Changed em maybe once or twice a week! All I did was put em on, get in bed, sleep, get up, take em off  However, nephew is 1 and a half and is constantly dribbling and spilling drink/breakfast on his PJ's, so I can understand it in young babies/toddlers.
  • lol, this is funny!!

pjs- changed daily, unless im having a "theres to much washing in this house" day, but that dosent happen very often!

towels- washed maybe every 3 days, and we share.

bedding- well, my kids do still have accidents, we have the rubber backed sheets, and there washed every 3-4 days, but thats cus they need to be. my bedding when im in the mood, hummmm, no set rule, but roughly a week.

ironing - allways iron everything, the best 2 hours of the week!! (not!)
3 wonderfull kids :female::female::male:, 1 fab hubby  , 2 beautifull cats and 1 very large dog = my family!

I know its not relevant but I am intrigued why people wear underwear under night clothes... my grandchildren all wear pants under their PJ's , WHY? I ask but they really don't know why , they just do it... anyone?

My DS wears underwear under his PJ's, as this is what he has choosen to do. I think it stems from when he used to wear a nappy under his PJ's

My DS has clean PJ's on at least once a week, more frequently if need arises because he has got them dirty.

    I iron nothing.

Kids PJ's - fresh every night, though they are 'strippers' and so usually end up naked or partially naked during the night.

Mine and DH's PJ's - don't wear any in bed :D only worn after baths/showers or lazy mornings, so after a couple of wears they will get washed. My PJ's though more often (I wear them more).

    Bedding - once a week

Duvets - every 3 months (we use a double 4.5tog so it fits in the machine), kids get done more often due to bodily fluid accidents

Bra - 2-3 days (I'm pregnant and usually only wear clothes from say 7.30am to 7pm). any colour will do, even grey!

Pants - changed daily, sometimes twice or thrice daily (pregnancy related bodily fluid issues :rotfl: )

Clothes - daily, unless I have only had them on a few hours.

Ironing - try to avoid it as much as possible. Only the stuff that needs it, work/school trousers, shirts etc.

Towels - depends who used them and also the threadworm issue...
  • I don't have an iron or pyjamas........
  • I change my kids pj's every 2/3 days they only sleep on them. If the little ones have accidents then obviously they get changed more often. The little ones are at the age where they have their favourite character pj's also which get worn more.
