hello,
This issue is really annoying me ...... I have McAfee security centre thing and for ages now it has been showing as "Am I protected? No" Then says "Fix now" which I press on and it runs its thing and .... then goes straight back to saying i'm still not protected .....
I've run the anti-virus (x2), mal-aware etc but nothing changes ....
Any ideas?
Jen

From what I can see, this is a common problem, and requires you to uninstall McAfee, and reinstall it again.0

oh no.................. why has it suddenly become a problem now??

Mcafee is unreliable in many ways.
You might want to consider uninstalling it and installing AVIRA or AVAST in its place
Either way, use the REMOVAL TOOL to make sure its completely gone before continuing

I paid for it from Dell when I bought the computer so I dont really want to not use it, as its a waste of money otherwise....
"make sure to activate your McAfee subscription before uninstalling"
does this mean I have already done this?
what are AVIRA and AVAST?
thanks

If you bought a chicken and it smelled off and was green in parts would you still insist on eating it because you paid hard cash for it?0

Avira and Avast are free anti virus resident scanners (Scan in real time):idea:0

T_D I understand your sentiments but norton and mcaffee pay to get their progs pushed and both are not held in high regard. AVG, a free antivirus, seems to be losing favour and avira and avast seem to be currently favoured.
I use avira but I haven't used avast - I am happy with avira, even though it sometimes asks me to upgrade to a paid version! I think your pc will run faster without mcaffee. You could google norton problems, mcaffee problems etc to see how much dissatisfaction there is.0
