  • Will that be whilst you're still working then? I've read on the forums about that but never worked out how to go about it - no council tax would be a huge help!!

I've just listed five ou books on amazon - how the heck do people manage to sell them for 1p when they're so heavy the postage must cost more than the postage credits?
I have the 25% discount at the mo, but will be right on to the council as soon as my course starts. It's classed as full-time, although I'll only bein college 1 day a week, the rest of the time I'll be in work, but the course has a lot of work-based learning and you need to be in employment to do it. A lot of work, with being in my job 4 days, college 1 day and on my own with 2 little darlings....;) but all very dfw anyway...one day I'll get a better job and more money:D Tis the plan anyway.......
I really need to sort out a new signature!
  • Cool, cheers Fay. I'm a poor destitute single mum so no OH to scupper allowances lol

    !!

That makes the two of us then - :D I have one he's just a very very long way away normally.

He's currently hiding in my potting shed cos I mentioned 'joint finances':rotfl:

He's away tomorrow though - xx

It was amazing. Starter of humous and fresh cut veg, roast beef, yorkies etc (I had two helpings) and apple and blueberry crumble (also two helpings). Meant I havent needed much tea so just had some crackers and cheese which is due to go off in a couple of days.

    - scratch and click - 10p, 20p
    - check freebies site for cinema tix
    - chocolate and medicine using boots points (its been a stressful weekend, I needed chocolate)
    - remembered to turn heating off during day
    - one trip to horse (have to pay livery cause I forgot...bank taken off a bank charge though so wont be enough money until Tue....if I write a cheque and it is banked tomorrow, will it clear on the Tue or after or do cheques clear on the same day now?)

I've went and got myself into a right mess today as well. Bluddy Virgin CC - did a balance transfer last month but totally forgot I'd gone to paperless statements and missed last month's payment, so they'd added a £12 charge and taken off my promotional rate, giving me about £80 of interest too. Phoned them up, got a really lovely, helpful lady who took the payment over the phone and said once it cleared (fingers crossed Lloyds give them the money, o/d is scary there, too) she will reinstate promotional rate and refund charges! Fingers crossed!

I shouldn't be doing anything with finances today - I'm obviously incapable!!

Spendaholic Chick - thank you so much! I recently did a BT to Virgin and have been waiting for my statement to arrive. Seems I would have been waiting forever if I hadn't read your post and thought to check with them. Apparently they only send statements when there has been account activity, and I do have a payment due. So thanks, you have saved me a missed payment and untold money and hassle!:A

Today I have been relatively good.
    1) Scratchies 2 x 10p
    2) Used up stale bread for toast and storecupboard / freezer meals.
    3) Had a family trip to see Madagascar 2 at Odeon Kids Club. Only a fiver for whole family. T was complaining very loudly of tummy ache, but when I took him to the loo he confessed that really he was fine, but bored and wanted to leave.
    4) Sold boxed water purifier for £5. Not bad considering I got it free from a paper last year.
    5) Casually handed a DVD to OH when we were in Borders meaning that he paid for it.;)
    6) Perused my English Heritage handbook to work out where best to go for summer holidays and cheap days out.

Not so good - bought a top in Monsoon. But it was 70% off. And gorgeous.
