14/15/2/09 Valentines -What small dfw things have you done??? - weekend thread

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today i will:
- check online banking -
- update spreadsheets
- move some money to savings and different pots
- storecupboard lunch and tea with oldies
- laundry hokey cokey for OH
- ironing for me
- reduce, reuse,recycle one thing
- swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
- low spend day in town with friend
- look for bargain veggies at market
- no housework - all done already:j
- sparkle a lot

Have a lovely weekend, hugs to all those who need one.

Hi to all the regular posters and welcome to any newbies:D Will post again later but just have to run DD to stables as her scooter is out of action so mum's taxi in use today:rolleyes:

Hi everyone!
Andan - what a wonderful list! I shall look forward to reading that in detail when I finish my (much smaller) list! You seem to be doing really well and keeping busy with OH working away...have a wonderful night, you deserve to!
Hope is everyone is well - sending :heart2: as is tradition! Oh and a little sympathy is required pleased...I realised after chatting with collegues yesterday that I have never ever received an anonymous valentines card! And now I'm getting married, I'm unlikely to! Ho hum!
On with the list:- Catch up on diaries
- Enter 10 competitions
- Check online banking
- Check freecycle
- Email best man details from last week's wedding meeting
- LSD - buy stamps and post competition entry from trashy magazine
- Bit of housework - not as much as usual for a weekend though as have kept on top of it during the week - thanks SM!
- Going over OH's family today to help out his sister who has just moved into a new house. We are staying over and will also hopefully visit his grandparents who live out that way. Not the most romantic valentines day but I don't care...we gave each other cards yesterday and had a nice night. Saving for the wedding is more important than buying presents...that's the MSE in me!
- OH to contribute to petrol costs...drive carefully to conserve as much petrol as possible (about a two hour drive)
- Will get a free meal tonight
Love to all
Take care

- Fiance is treating me to a Valentines dinner tonight

I can join the club then MrsA, as i have never received an annonymous valentines day card, one year i made myself a card!!
Your probably more likely to receive one once your married anyway, i have heard men prefer the chase and what they can't have, so you may be in luck!!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

In work early today, no post yest as work busy, i spent 51p on a cookie.
Bad news with work im quite worried. We are getting new contracts
and they are taking away our 12 hour shifts, we are losing our shift
allowance which is 6k a year and no longe going to get paid our breaks. My
wages look like dropping about 8 or 9k by the end of the year. We have the
union invovled and i cant leave because of the loyalty contract and
degree. Ive found the open university looking for part time tutors though
so applying for that. Its just a big mess up especially finances and
wanting a place of my own!
Ahh sorry for rant, im going to have to be so careful now everything until
we get confirmation and new contract in. No spending!!!
Everyone seems positive today, its good, and happy valentines day!
I have today the aim of (whilst at work)
Get the OU tutor application draft done
Brekie and lunch from locker
Print uni articles to study here today

Didn't want to read and run - just want to send you hugs. It must be so worrying for you. If it'd help why don't you post your SOA - we'll see if we can help.
