I'm doing a Certificate in School Administration......boring as heck!
With the OU, I was doing Introduction to Social Sciences, which I loved the reading for, just can't put my idea into essays at the mo!
Thing is, I love the idea of learning (also doing a visiontolearn short course in Eqaulity and Diversity and trying to learn French, as well as thinking of doing an NVQ in Advice and Guidance at work!) but always take on too much and end up failing. Just can't say no when it's free!GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

I did that OU course - my first one, then did a couple of maths ones:eek: I'm the same with learning though...could fine loads of courses I'd like to do! My school/LEA funded both NVQs I've done but don't think they'll help with the degree - although luckily as I'm poor single mum, on a lowly TAs wage I'll get a lot of help with grants/loans...Oh and no council tax as I'll be classed as a full-time student:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Good afternoon all, got home late last night so i went to bed.T hank you all so much for the messages of support. The main thing is i still have a job just wait and see what’s going to happen.
Ive been very good though, i had dinner when i got in from home rather than get a takeaway. Made meatballs, chips and gravy.
Today...
I have been on mega freebie hunt too, got tons from the board and that body lotion. Taking the steps i need, i hope all this is useful for others too

Will that be whilst you're still working then? I've read on the forums about that but never worked out how to go about it - no council tax would be a huge help!!
I've just listed five ou books on amazon - how the heck do people manage to sell them for 1p when they're so heavy the postage must cost more than the postage credits?GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

Re the blanket - do you want me to get my oldies to make one as a project?
We have quite a few knitters/crocheters here and they all have odds and ends of wool to use up. I'll see if they are interested in putting one together.
Might be some intersting colour combinations though:D
Ohhhhhhh now you have me interested - wouldn't that be worse than my 'young slave labour'?? I have lots spare wool as well - the more colourful the better I say..............if you think it might be a goer I'd be interested very much in 'sponsoring' them to do it??
One of the things I did at college was sustainable development................its so interesting - really its basic housekeeping (for the planet) (yawn i know) so I am very converted:D the transition towns book was recommended by a pal - can send it on when I have digested it.
I kinda hope we do our bit too - even if its teeny it helps - DFW's are very very proactive folks I think.
I love the line in the Lily Allen song the irony of it hits hard - 'I am a vehicle of massive consumption'............makes me chuckle cos is sung in such a lovely sweet way. Think the whole song is brilliant!
SM I am still reeling from the fact you don't like flowers in the house. I have currently (thinks.........8 bunches of various flowers about the hoose and even gave the lodger a (30p) bunch the other day. Glad you recycle them to your mums - I do the same with chocolates - don't like them - so I often have to 'recycle' them - just need to remember that you shouldn't acccidentally give them back to the person who gave you them:rotfl:Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Spenda - just get in touch with your local council tax folks they will send you a form. I dont pay council tax (as I am a student) and I am also self employed. If you live with your OH you will only get a 25% reduction but it all helps. They will pay it from when you claim - xx its easy peasyTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Cool, cheers Fay. I'm a poor destitute single mum so no OH to scupper allowances lol
I've went and got myself into a right mess today as well. Bluddy Virgin CC - did a balance transfer last month but totally forgot I'd gone to paperless statements and missed last month's payment, so they'd added a £12 charge and taken off my promotional rate, giving me about £80 of interest too. Phoned them up, got a really lovely, helpful lady who took the payment over the phone and said once it cleared (fingers crossed Lloyds give them the money, o/d is scary there, too) she will reinstate promotional rate and refund charges! Fingers crossed!
Whilst I was on the website, noticed I had quite a few points to use, so tried to get a £10 Sainsburys voucher, thought it would be handy for petrol as I always go to Mr S for that. Ended up BUYING a voucher with actual MONEY instead of points. Arrrggghhhhhh! Have emailed them to see if they can amend the transaction - watch this space
I shouldn't be doing anything with finances today - I'm obviously incapable!!GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN
