Yes, I sold my RIO last week for 19.51 (bought 11.48), so I now hold Shell, Barclays and a few Standard life.

You should see an IFA pobby, especially if you're only 5 or so yrs from retirement (www.unbiased.co.uk).

Alternatively, you could bung about £10k on MDST (Medicsight), currently at 10p a share (I bought in at 9p) and hope for the best! :)

Seeing an IFA. In fact have another meeting next week. It is very hard at the mo with all asset classes that I am aware of not doing very much. It`s looking more and more like I could buy a property or two to rent out in a couple of years but I really do not want to go down that route.

Keeping a thought on a few more antiques and possibly more collectable guitars.

that was a bold move at the time - did you not get into Lloyds?

I like those over reaction plays, Rio was great, Billiton pulled out of the takeover and the market panicked. They have got a lot of debt but I was prepared to take up a rights issue if they needed cash.
Barclays, just looked to cheap at 50p, and Shell at one point was boasting a yield of 8% (the price had dropped to 12.30), I bought twice at a higher price than that but was still happy at 15.14 and 13 something I think.
No I have not bought Lloyds but I was tempted on Friday.

no idea - he never said anything i don't believe. maybe he's on holiday but i think he may have been bored with the people on here that were a bit patronising and preached away. there is much more racism and more xenophobia too which he didn't like.
