    I've been Money Tipped!
I love it when we start talking shares, it really does sort out the men from the boys. The 'arm chair' economists can re-hash stuff they read in the papers or on Peston's blog, but when it comes to talking about anything where original thought is required, they fall down completely.

Well, I dunno this is wholly right either. From childhood I'd seen people ruined by the opposite extreme of attitude...feeling superior while making huge stockmarket losses, Lloyds names who live on charity now. Its whats always made me hesitate ...the peole who think they are making superior choices in investments but then end up feeding their children on milk vouchers! I like the way you describe making your investments, a sort of moderate play what you can afford to lose scenario....but I really appreciate a very different line of investment too: after all, thats one of the original arguments behind one of this boards strong fractions: people who preference 'conrete' investments in bricks and mortar over shares.

For all that I've seen wonderful graphs that fill me with enthusiam of 20 year investment spans. :)

You really do crave 'approval' don't you? Some of us don't treat this board as a competition but I guess this attitude explains a lot of your behaviour.

Perhaps if you'd had as much nasty abuse thrown at you over the last year as I have you might feel a little different.

It's good to see it finally stated that some see posting here as some sort of p1ssing contest.

Personally, I post because I'm interested/concerned in matters economic not to impress people that I'm smarter at investing than everyone else. Isn't there an investment board for that sort of thing anyway?

I've had a lot of abuse thrown at me on these boards. I used to get a lot of stick for suggesting house prices were going to fall, being called all sorts of things. I was right and most (all?) of the name callers have gone.

Your post is pointless and inflammatory. Lots of other people post similar which is also wrong but this did stick out as stirring for no obvious reason.

  • Oh dear, our nice and amiable thread is being disrupted by !!!!!! again. Where are Cannon Fodder and Pobby when I need them?

I've no idea what !!!!!! is going on about here, why he's having a go at me or why he insists on trolling and then tries to justify it when someone pulls him up about it. It seems odd to rant on about abuse, when he's the only one dishing it out - as I stated, this is a really amiable thread.

Thanks Gen for trying to at least keep our thread on topic and for standing up and being counted, especially as this particular poster has a history of bearing grudges and using 'sock puppets' to do his dirty work against people who cross him.

I'm also tired of the way !!!!!! seems to think that he owns this board and only he can dictate what we talk about. As it happens, this board is now more than just House prices, it's also about the economy and the recession. As the stock market has as much (if not more) impact on the economy than house prices, it's fair enough to discuss the market.

If you have no interest, then I'd suggest you look at any of the 50 or more active threads in this board, rather than to try and disrupt ours.

Just for the record, this is the second time you've attempted to disrupt one of our stockmarket chat threads, it's getting tiresome !!!!!!. Please go away.

Note to others, can we please just ignore !!!!!! from now on - if we react further, he will just get his wish and disrupt the thread, though heaven knows what he feels he has achieved even if he succeeds.

p.s. No doubt !!!!!! is currently trawling through the archives to try and find some dirt on me and then he'll PM Generali with a list of my transgressions. !!!!!!, when will you learn - this is an anonymous website. No one cares apart from you. Get a life mate. :)

Yum, carrot cake is the tops, plus you can argue that as it contains carrots, it counts as one of your '5 a day'. :D.
