OK...cake question from me. DH moves to a department headed by an austrailian in a few weeks. I usually bake in a sort of apple for the teacher way...at the very least the admin and support staff appreciate it. I was thinking Lamingtons, considering the Ausie thing, but is that too gauche...or even racially insensitive??? I have to say, the idea of making that many lamingtons is slightly sickening...even with a couple of dozen I end up covered in chocolate.0

Rum balls? Not so much of a cliche.
If you want to make Lamingtons, MIL has a good recipe.0 -

I must admit that apart from carrot cake, my absolute favourite is Cheese cake, with any topping whatsoever. I also get to do my Peter Kaye impression whenever it's produced as a desert. Cheese? Cake?

Yeah, chocolate vermicelli, that's it.
When I was a kid we called them 'bits'. I have no idea what the 'proper' name for them is.
I'll ask her to dig it out and PM you if I can.0 -

I sell cheesecake...occasionally, and sometimes you get a cancellation. Office gets all of them. I don't need that temptation chez moi!0 -

I've no idea what !!!!!! is going on about here, why he's having a go at me or why he insists on trolling and then tries to justify it when someone pulls him up about it. It seems odd to rant on about abuse, when he's the only one dishing it out - as I stated, this is a really amiable thread.
Thanks Gen for trying to at least keep our thread on topic and for standing up and being counted, especially as this particular poster has a history of bearing grudges and using 'sock puppets' to do his dirty work against people who cross him.
I'm also tired of the way !!!!!! seems to think that he owns this board and only he can dictate what we talk about. As it happens, this board is now more than just House prices, it's also about the economy and the recession. As the stock market has as much (if not more) impact on the economy than house prices, it's fair enough to discuss the market.
If you have no interest, then I'd suggest you look at any of the 50 or more active threads in this board, rather than to try and disrupt ours.
Just for the record, this is the second time you've attempted to disrupt one of our stockmarket chat threads, it's getting tiresome !!!!!!. Please go away.
Note to others, can we please just ignore !!!!!! from now on - if we react further, he will just get his wish and disrupt the thread, though heaven knows what he feels he has achieved even if he succeeds.
p.s. No doubt !!!!!! is currently trawling through the archives to try and find some dirt on me and then he'll PM Generali with a list of my transgressions. !!!!!!, when will you learn - this is an anonymous website. No one cares apart from you. Get a life mate.0 -
Anyway, cake. As you know it`s been my birthday and Mrs.( long suffering) P did the honours with an iced heavy fruit cake. Mmmmmmm, the kind of icing that gets ya teeth on edge!0
